Would you use them stock?
Would you modify one or the other?

Liquid Kids
Lunar Rescue
Nastar
Puzzle Bobble
Qix
Rainbow Islands
Rainbow Islands Extra
Rastan

They're all 2 player 2 button or less games right? I'd go with a Bubble Bobble cab/panel myself...given that's my fav game of the bunch (And of all actually).

I'm partial to multi's looking like 1 game and booting to 1 game from startup.

Frankly, I'd ditch Arkanoid given the spinner. If I was gonna build a multi with a spinner, I'd probably do one that runs as many games using that spinner as possible.

If it's one of the two pictured panels, Qix for sure given the 2 button games.

Don't hack up the Qix control panel. There is no repro available and that one is in nice shape. Can proabably sell for a good price.

I have a NOS overlay for Qix. That one already has the 2 buttons. Guess it would come down to cutting another hole in the JK CP. Or, looks like someone wants that one....:D

Appreciate it. The game board does not support booting to one game. This is the Multi that Nixs is selling.

The cab is going to be either a Jungle Hunt cab, or Qix.

Looking to get advice to play the 4 games above and which CP to use.

I'm gonna do the exact same thing but I'm going to make the cab a Jungle King cab.
The artwork is awesome and in my opinion the most colorful of all the standard Taito cabs.
I have all the stuff including the multi board but it's about three projects away at the moment. I'm still not sure what I'm gonna do about the button issue yet though. I definitely won't be cutting another hole in the CP.

I would not hack either panels. I would sell the unhacked panels, and buy one that already has the button layout you need.

That's what I'm trying to figure out! I want to utilize the panels for play(which is now leaning towards Qix). I think 2 buttons, one joy is fine.

I can always make a jumper to both start buttons to return to the menu.

I guess the question I am asking, what is the ultimate layout for the 20 game Multi Taito pcb?

I was thinking about this also I have a stripped Jungle King cab to put it in. But I need the spinner ( the wife loves Arkanoid) .

Don't think the Multi Taito supports a spinner (but you could get a cheap PC and play the 20 games with Mame for much less than I paid for the board!)

Not sure what the best layout is since I have only some games once or twice, but I need to check how many buttons are needed. I bought the original cab (mistake??) and it has 4 buttons per player (and two players) and don't think I have played a game that needed both joysticks or more than 2 buttons.

Since the Multi Taito bartop cabinet comes with 2 sticks and 2 buttons, my guess would be that is the most you need (2 sticks, 2 buttons). IF I decide to go with a Multi-Taito i'm going to stick with 1 stick and 2 buttons.

Why even hack an original? Many original Taito machines came with a stick and 2 buttons... why not choose one of them?

Hence the pictures. :D

I am curious about using one or two joysticks. I understand the 2 buttons for MOST games. I am unsure, and was hoping that someone knew offhand, if any require more than 2.

Spinner is not a concern. In my first post, I really only want to play 4 of the 20 games.

If any required more than 2 buttons I'd assume the authentic Taito cabs that nix is selling would come with more than 2...
