Which multimeter from home depot?

After all the issues with new 720 I may buy one of these voltage meters.

Is there one at Home Depot that is good?

If you plan on using this on arcade games this will not work. You need a digital multi meter, that link you posted is not a multi meter its just a voltage reader and nothing more, you cant measure resistance or get exact voltages or anything of that matter.

This is what you would need and isnt a bad multi meter at all for the price. Very rugged also and works great.

K thanks for the links. I guess I should finally buy one of these since I have two machines down at the moment and am picking up 2 non-working machines this week.

I usually luck out and my machines run like champs but the 720 is proving to be quite tricky
and nerdygrl and I are trying to narrow down the problem to the PS or possibly some bad connectors.

When it comes to multimeters, I would only buy a Fluke or something of comparable quality.

You can find good quality test gear on CL or Ebay pretty cheap. Personally, I would rather buy a used Fluke than a new anything else.....

Well I need one tonight and I need to buy it from Home Depot as I have a business charge account there. Is there one that has all the features that would be needed to diagnose a possible bad power supply or voltage fluctuation on an Atari 720.

Then just get this one:

It's auto-ranging and has an audible continuity buzzer.

No. Home Depot doesn't carry Fluke.

If you have a gun to your head to only buy it at Home Depot, then I'd try the Klein meters. Klein makes great HAND TOOLS. I have no experience with their meters at all, and they are relatively new to that market I believe, so they might end up being pure crap. But, they have been a well-trusted brand for many years. You can only hope that has carried into their meters.

The only ones there I would consider are the MM2000, MM1000, MM200. Of the 3, only the MM2000 would work for me, because I need a True RMS meters, but you could probably get away with the MM200.

Whatever you do, make sure you only buy an "Auto-Ranging" meter.

Radio Shack also has some pretty nice meters.

This one is a newer version of the one I use. I haven't had a problem with my meter in 8 years besides changing batteries

This is the one I would suggest also.

Continuity buzzer lets you quick-check cords, fuses, connectors and more

You can test your buttons with this as well.

My Extech has many of the same features.

No offense, but Radio Shack meters have always been total CRAP. They were CRAP back in the day when Radio Shack was serious about electronics and not just consumer junk. And now all that they carry is low-end consumer junk I would trust their meters even less!!

I got an ideal brand from home depot and it has been tortured to death and still works good, I paid 80$ two ys ago
