There are several multis floating around the for-sale section, just curious what people thought about them. I've seen the 100/111-in-1 Neo Geo Cart, the 48 in 1 vertical, the 60 in 1 vertical, a 19 in 1 horizontal. I also have seen a Blue Elf board with 300ish games. I only have room for 3 games in my basement, and 1 is a neo geo 2 slot, so a multi Neo makes sense. I've got a dedicated DK, so, not sure what else to put down there.

Opinions?

Just depends on your setup, what you can afford, and what games you are looking to play, IE classics, fighters, horizontally oriented games, etc.

I hear the arcadeshop ones are really nice and are more authentic to the original games but I know they run alot more than the standard 48-in-1.

I'm fine with the standard poor man's 48-in-1 I purchased from Nixs on these forums. It's fun to have on hand as there has been a cab drought in my area for quite some time now. If you are a stickler for purism your opinions might differ as the sounds on the board can range from slightly inaccurate to extremely distorted.

Well, they don't make the 48-in-1 anymore, so if you want to go that route, choose, the 60-in-1.

I've tried them all but the neo-geo. If you like fighting games, go with the Blue Elf 2 (horizontal). if you go vertical, go with the 60-in-1.

The 19-in-1 is not worth it, in my opinion. If you want a bunch of Williams games, go with Jrok's board...

It depends on what you want.

the Arcadeshop board is nice, but expensive. Also - I believe they are at the point that it is out of memory - so you can't load all of the games on there at once anymore. It does have some really nice game selection though that you can't find on other boards, and it does both horizontal and vertical games (not at the same time though).

The 60 in 1 is pretty stable. Some of the sounds aren't the same - but if you aren't picky, this is the best bang for your buck.

The multi-neo geo is great if you like neo geo games. It is best for a single slot neo geo, as I believe the multi cart disables use of the other slots in a 2, 4, or 6 slot board.

the 19-in-1 isn't worth it in my opinion, but if you have limited space, it's nice. Mostly Vs games and williams games with a couple others thrown in. Defender and Stargate play like garbage, the only williams game really worthwhile is robotron. If you like the williams games, go for the Jrok board.

Depends on what you want to play, sounds to me like you only have room for one more game, so make it a good one.

Do you like Williams games? Robotron, Defender, Joust, etc..if you do, get the JROK multiwilliams. It is an awesome piece of hardware, with some absolutely killer games on it..

Do you have to have Pac-Man, Galaga, Centipede, Dig-Dug, and other vertical "classics"? Well, then get the Arcadeshop board. Since you only have 3 games, it is worth spending the extra coin over a cheeseball 60-1. Also since the Arcadeshop board has all the DK's, you could possibly sell/trade your DK, and get something really cool like a vector game.

That's my opinion, and I have owned 60-1, Arcadeshop, and JROK boards.

The 100/111 in 1 neo carts are really really nice.
Blue elf = total crap. Really. The games play really really bad.
The neo carts really are nice, running on real hardware and all. Saves setting for each game. Works on both my 4 slot a single slot.
Really.

Unfortunately a MAME PC is the best Multi if you have to get one. (Understanding most here hate all multi's)

I personally have a Arcadeshop Vertical in a Galaga (New Build) and a Arcadeshop Horizontal in a Joust cab (New build) and a Multi Pac (96 in 1) in a Pac cab as my 3 main cabs. I have room for a 4th and am building another MAME....

Steer clear of the 1072 in 1 as well. Save yourself, the time, effort and horrible menu system and get a p4 pc with 1gb ram and a ipac or minipac, add mala or another good menu system and you're set.

The 1072 in 1 cant even play NBA JAM, whereas a couple of my P4's coule play KI2 with no problems....

1072 in 1 = $285 + upgrades to 1208 and p4 (Just to get ms pacman and trackball support for Centipede) = $400

A dell Optiplex 2.8GHz 1G Ram 80 GB HD on EBay = $150 tops + minipac $70 = $220

As always just my $.02

yeah, MAME is the best once you learn how to configure it. multis are best for the plug and play crowd. i think the 60-in-1 is the best multi for the price on the market right now.

I can tell you from experience that the ONLY multi board that I would reccomend is the ArcadeShop one. It not only is the most faithful at reproducing the look and feel of the original games, but it has a superior menu and adjustment features. You can choose WHAT games you want on the board, which is really nice.

Beware of the Neo in-1 boards. I have PERSONALLY seen them not work on anything but a 1-slot. I have HEARD of people claiming that you can use them on multi-slot boards, but based upon my own experience AND posts from many others, you are most likely setting yourself up for dissapointment...

Its true that in the past most neo multi carts were shit.
However these 100/111 in 1 yellow carts (mine came from nixs) are quite nice. I have one 100 in one running on location for about 8 months now with no issues on a single slot and an 111 at home on a 4 slot. These yellow carts are awesome. Stay away from other neo multis.
