Any opinions on this ? I like the dedicated heat sink on the 801. I only have seen 802s so far though.
Does one have advantages over the other one, or was the 802 simply a try to make it cheaper ?

I have always considered rarity as a disadvantage, and 802s are more plentiful, so based on that, in my opinion the 802s are better.

If something goes wrong 802s are around more

Well....considering that the 801 seems to have more of a "proper" power supply with transistors instead of resistors and heat-sinks for them, plus HUGE caps to filter out the AC....and considering the deflection board looks a bit more spacious and organiszed .....and that the deflection transistors have a proper heat-sink instead of just being mounted on the frame (which can't be as good on the job of "guiding away" the heat as a real heat-sink) I am more inclined to say that the 801 is better.

All the changes on the 802 seem to be for cost-reduction reasons, not real improvements.
