Ikari controllers are a pain IMHO. No lie, as a kid it took me forever to figure out you could turn the sticks. I was like.. shit! No wonder this bitch was so hard to play. hah

Wasn't it written on the bezel?

Oh I'm sure it was, however in my youth I was never one for instructions. hah.

Could you imagine playing Ikari or HB with the tron controls? With a separate spin control you could fly through the game in some freakish death blossom. hah

I like the Ikari controls better.

While screwing around I modified a stick so that I could play DOT with a rotating stick. I liked it a lot better then the default control panel setup. I just used buttons for the up/down part of the spinner.

Damn! Looks like a multi-rotary joystick cabinet is in order! :D

Edit:

Well Midnight is a horizontal monitor game, but it looks great, like contra!

There are a few of us putting these together. As soon as I get a JAMMA switcher that actually works (and doesn't cost an arm & a leg), I'll have Ikari Warriors, Heavy Barrel, Time Soldiers and Gondomania in one cab...

OK That is cool on so many levels! I feel your JAMMA switcher pain. I have decided to make a rack next to my Marvel Vs Capcom cabinet and put all my loose JAMMA boards in it, and use a JAMMA Extension cable to manually switch the games. I will make sure that cable is keyed! :D

I'm 1. I'm just on the fence between utilizing Guerrilla War artwork or Victory Road. Both themes are great for different reasons. Siding heavily with Victory Road.

My major hang up right now is cleaning and rebuilding the rotary sticks. I STILL can't get the stupid top cap off so I can take the entire thing apart. Yes. I've tried the paper clip method a billion times. Yes. I know where the tabs are to pop off. No. I can't get the damned thing off.

You need to use something heavier than a paper clip. I made mine out of a coat hanger and it works like a charm!
