Which games do you enjoy watching OTHERS play?

Seeing Hec play a huge T&F game live would be another sublime arcade moment...up there with the other performances I mentioned.

I was equally mesmerized watching footage of him tapping those buttons. Very cool

Good question. I think it's always amazing to watch someone play the trackball games like Missile Command and Centipede. Tempest also comes to mind.

Next weekend Don Hayes is going to attempt a Centipede marathon without using any trapping, leeching tricks. I plan on taking a long break from whatever game I'm told to play to watch that for quite a bit, should be insane.

I also highly recommend if you are ever at an event and Laszlo Takacs is there to watch him play Tempest. Unreal. Plus he has an awesome chair with him.

+1 for Frontline I watched an older chinese gentleman at CAX kicking ass had over 50k when he died

I enjoy watching people play Zeke's Peak...in fact I've rarely played the game myself.. Also like watching people play Afterburner Deluxe because its so over the top! Also like Berzerk, Millipede, Pole Position and Frontline.

I too got to watch Fly play Hypersports and got the tutorial on how to play.

Andrew

At CAX, I did a lot of watching since it was so crowded.

- Watching experienced pinball players in the tournament hallway was fun (and funny) to watch. They all have their unique way of playing. I should have shot video.

- Watching guys like TronGuy and Fly play T&F or Hypersports.

- Experienced SFII players who know combos, nuances and characters of the game.

I wish I could have watched the guy who put 300K+ points on Slackmoe's Circus Charlie. That game is not forgiving.

My tutorial should have you beating that score in short order.

If for some reason the 100 degree heat today fries my wig and I forget to do this tonight, post or PM me and I'll get in gear.

I went to see Steve Wiebe at a DK101 "class" here in Chicago. I figured I'd pick up a few tips but that DK is what it is and that a good player can just stay alive a little better than most. Holy crap was I wrong. It was awesome watching him play in the class and then when he tried to beat the record. There were situations where I just couldn't believe that he got out alive and he barely registered any effort. As nerdy as it sounds, it was thrilling to watch.

games to view

There are many games out there that i enjoy watching others play. Right off the top of my head, these are always entertaining for me to watch people play.

Marble Madness. Everyone seems to have their own technique. Pretty entertaining to see.

Pole Position. Watching a really good player wail away on PP is an adrenaline rush.

Pac-Man. I can't stand playing myself, but I find it a blast to watch someone blaze thru it who knows the right sequences to take.

Anyone else care to add?

Dig dug is a good one ,i used to like watching other people try and get away , up the hard stages , you get anxiety attacks , cause you know pookas are going to have sex with their heads !!

Qix , is also a good one , people surprize you with different tacktics , Qix is such a hot game anyway , i get guys who are playstation " experts " , mulch their undies with excitement !!!

I like watching everyone playing games.. When a player is really good at a game theres an art and skill there. Theres hidden movements and skills that can be learn by only watching people play.

Games i like too watch people play the most are DK,DKJR,DK3

Yeah, I'm no expert for sure. I remember playing it on Famicom when I was a kid and then more recently on MAME. Now that Slackmoe has a dedicated cab, it's definitely fun playing the original. Tips and tricks would be most appreciated. :)

Finished a quick guide. PM me with e-mail addy and I will send word doc.

Those are some good ones. I love watching Richie Knucklez play PP/PP2...he's insane on that one. I don't care to watch Pac-Man so much (at least not once they get to the 9th key), but I love watching someone play Ms Pac or Jr Pac that knows how to group the ghosts, especially on the slow boards.
