I cross posted this (kind of) in the monitor section.

I have two upright Afterburner cabinets. Both were non-working when purchased. I have two manuals for the game (both scans from KLOV Museum). Page #28 in the "Upright Owners Manual alternative" indicates a 5 position fuse block with 2A SB fuses supplying power to the monitor. Page #15 in the "Owners Manual" indicates a 2 position fuse block with 5A FB or 6A FB supplying power to the monitor. I'm blowing 10A FB fuses trying to supply power to my monitor (that was what was in the cab when purchased - I didn't question it until now). What is the correct type of fuse? Both my cabs have two position fuse blocks with no labelling. The K7900 monitor chassis has an onboard 1.5A SB fuse (as per the silkscreen on the pcb).

You need slow blow fuses to give primary power to your monitor or peaks will kill every fuse you will install (as stated...).
Do not exceed the manual amperage to avoid damage

I'm using 3A SB now (which is above what ONE of the manuals state) and I am killing every fuse. 5A FB fuses also get killed every time (what the other manual states). In fact, 10A FB fuses get killed every time. Is it normal to get spikes above 10A?

Yes, hopefully I can get the monitor fixed. Still, I need to know what fuses are supposed to be in the cabinet. There has to be someone here with an Afterburner cabinet that knows what fuses they use.

I don't know if you ever got this answered. I recently bought an afterburner and was dealing with the same concern of not knowing which fuses went in the cabinet. The fuses in my cabinet were so corroded I couldn't read them. However, in the process of replacing the fuse block and cleaning the bottom I found this sticker (hidden under a thick layer of grime). Anyways, I hope this helps!
