My current 2 faves are these:

1. Robotron, the sound that sounds like a Harley starting up (best way I can put it)
2. Defender (it just sounds like you've stepped into a parallel dimension- I love it)

I've always liked Frogger...every time I hear it it brings me back

I've always liked Frogger...

Frogger's is one of my favorites, too. And the aforementioned Defender.

Pac-Man's is arguably the best there ever was. The sound of a machine eating your quarter is hard to beat.

Robotron's various coin-up sounds are cool, especially the crowd cheering. Very well-rendered.

Galaga's rules.

The "gong" in the Atari System I games...

"Yippie!" in Sunsetriders...

Killer Instinct dude Saying "Coming to your home in 1995 only on Nintendo Ultra 64.. KILLER INSTINCT!!"

but not the gay version cruisin usa does...

I like how Robotron does a bunch of different ones. Another one of my fav's is Crazy Kong (go figure :D ) Also agree with Steve W, the Taito's like Elevator Action, Jungle King, etc. are awesome. Tron and Tapper are neat too.

I like wizard of wor (before coin up..."Please insert coin for my treasure chest.") and after coin up. Also like the Bezerk & NBA Jam coin ups, and of course SF2s. I'm trying to get my phone to have that sound effect every time I get text or voice mail. :D

Q*Bert, Krull (Gottlieb) had that faux coin rattling sound which I have always enjoyed.

Rush 2049. Especially juxtaposed next to the "rush...!" whispering as the menu tweens in.

And I know it's a redemption piece, but Jumpin' Jackpot. Actually, everything audio about JJ is liquid awesome.

The PiU "Hit Me!" has a special place in my heart.

I nominate vintagegamer as King of the Fluff Threads :)

and i think pacman has the all-time best credit sound hit.
