Which arcade used a magnetic pendulum type 8-way white balltop Universal joystick?

I have three of these really cool Universal white balltop joysticks. They have a small PCB at the bottom which looks to be made for 360 degree movement, as there is a circle at the centre of the pcb. There are no leaf or microswitcheson these. Really strange. Seems to work off magnetics or something like that. Also, wires are directly soldered to the PCB at certain points. Four springs centre the joystick.

Pics coming soon.

Don't know the game these would be out of, but looks to me like it uses a magnet and reed switches....

interesting idea... wonder how well it handles the test of time.

Also interesting as it has a line for each of the 8 directions.

you'd have to do a bit of work to use them in place of a regular 8 way joystick.

What they would be cool for is a mix of 4 way games with q-bert.... q-bert could get the diagonal reeds, and the others could get the up/down/left/right reeds.....

I think that's the problem. You have flyers, pre production, production, and then replacement parts. So any of the them could have been different/unique. I would say look for universal games that used that style of stick and go with that.

Interesting, in the flyer is shows a black balltop:

Man, I have searched and searched. I cant even find other pics of Magical Spots with white joysticks other then the one you provided. All the other MS have a black balltop on google.

Ok, so I fully restored these three beauties, and I must admit, I have NEVER seen or heard of any other joysticks that work on this premise. They are based on an 8 way magnetic pendulum type action. The tip of the shaft has a small magnetic tip inserted into the shaft, and that activates the sensors on the pcb. These actually look really nice now.

Still can not find ANY information on these anywhere. These are just a SUPER cool part of arcade history and technology I dont think many people have seen. So without further delay, here are the attached restored Universal magnetic joysticks:
