I love the stories.

I paid 5K for my Star trek and I am the second owner, they obviously knew what they had, but like the one you have, it stayed in the same place since delivery 30 something years ago and maybe moved 6 feet in its whole life. When I got it to my shop to check it out, the voice sound went out, It worked when it left their house, but it no longer worked 100% when we got it home, so we had it bullet proofed. Since then, William Shatner has signed it on the marquee in Yellow, and it is working great.

I paid 300.00 for Pengo and I was the 3rd owner of it because the daughter of the deceased game winner acquired it, and she did not want to deal with it any longer, so now it has been in our collection for almost 10 years.

Both of my halfsies games are in time warp condition, and they both have all of the documentation including the winning decoders, the cereal box, the thank you letters, the T-shirt, and other game candy that you received when you won these.

Yeah you only got what you received on the game box, you did not get to choose. If you were a runner up contestant and received a game anyways, you got lucky!

Also, these were wired a certain way from Sega for home use only. You coin up the game using player 1 and then use the player1 and 2 buttons to play continuously over and over again.

I'm glad I found this thread! I am the original owner of Halfsies' Star Trek machine. It's the stand up version.

My parents didn't believe me that I won, and it took ... months... for us to mail the paperwork in. It was delivered broken, unfortunately.
Eventually it was repair and was a big hit for my 7th birthday party in 1983. I remember being bummed it wasn't Zaxxon, but have since acquired some posters and another marquee for display. The artwork on the sides wasn't ever "very good" and has slid down over time.

I still have it and play it occasionally. My high score is at least 350K.
I lost the original keys for it, but we've picked the locks and are able to get into as normal.

I uploaded a picture of my machine to the Wikipedia article years ago.

Mine wasn't "wired" for home use only... at least not that I can tell. The coin slot work as expected, the player 1 and player 2 buttons work.
Inside, behind the coin slots, there is a small board to control the volume and the credits.

I remember being bummed it wasn't Zaxxon, ...

We all share your grief. :giggle:
I can't think of anyone who would prefer to win a new (and relatively rare) yet more expensive and more collectible color vector arcade machine over a SUPER ZAX. Crazy. LOL

I am still seeking this one in the halfsies trio. It seems to be a hard one to find in good condition and for sale. Maybe they did not give too many of this one away?

Different time and different era. Zaxxon had its heyday.

Back then I would have preferred the Super Zaxxon. I tried to win it. But man, I would take the Star Trek way, way, way more than anything.

I also wish someone had a Star Trek that was close to me so my older brain could actually experience it - my younger brain did no such thing because it did not hold the razzle dazzle of something like ZooKeeper....

I definitely enjoyed Star Trek way more as I was older especially the Captain's Chair version.
