Which arcade games won in the Halfsies cereal box contest do you have?

Recently picked up a Halfsies Star Trek Also

Now we have Pengo and Star Trek from the halfsies contest.

Still looking for the Super Zaxxon with documentation.

Let me know if you have one for sale. It must be nice and have the halfsies documentation.

Nice! Congrats! I have a Star Trek that I believe was in the contest. It has no paperwork... but factor wired for free play... similar to my SZ.

Yeah then most likely yours is a halfsies Star Trek. The Star Trek we found was not from an arcade collector, but they sure knew the value of it! It had not been moved more than 10 feet since 1984 when it was delivered, and it was delivered, at first, upside down! When we packed it up and moved it from Iowa, to Georgia, and when I unwrapped it and let it acclimate in our shop, I fired it up and the speech went out. It did not like the move, but luckily, we went ahead and bullet proofed the boards and original power supply, and got it back running again, so that it will run originally with no worries.

We are just going to let the monitor age and when it dies, go ahead and bullet proof it as well.

Super Zaxxon is, seemingly to me, is the hardest one to find because the ones that I have seen are not in as mint condition as the other two titles.

And, they are mostly missing the documentation.

Maybe Super Zaxxon is not hard to find, but hard to find for sale. It is a matter of the others resurfacing like this star trek of mine did, who are not particularly arcade collectors like we are, but just individuals holding onto a legacy.

I would buy a repro of that Tshirt if anyone decided to make it.

Loved that cereal!
Ok so I know this shirt is super rare to find and basically non existent.

I am making me a shirt and I am resurrecting this thread so that maybe others, if they want one, can have a chance to get one. It is a knockoff but a good one!

Above is the reproduction decal printed on a blanket type material as a test run.

That must have been quite the experience for the winners of those games! It would be fun to own one of those.
Yeah with the stories that we have heard and the memorabilia that we have collected, the stories floor us as well as the fact that people who have not won the contest still keep the maps that reveal the winners.

We just purchased off ebay one of the king's maps and decoder device still intact that was not a winner that the seller picked up at a garage sale. We now have two of the three maps that you could collect. We are still hunting for the third.

We have yet to find any T-shirt which is why I am making my own for the shadow box we are creating for our Halfsies games we do own.

Halfsies.

Half the sugar. Half the taste apparently.
Supposedly Half the taste of Captain Crunch so they say. I never ate them, I was not allowed to eat junk for Breakfast. This arcade contest was the last ditch effort to boost sales until they discontinued the cereal shortly after in 1984.

Sorry I missed it. Winning ANY of those games would have been awesome, but ST SOS Cockpit? OMG!

I do not think they offered that one. From what I believe was these games were not selling very well either, so two companies tried to possibly help each other out and dig themselves out of a tizzy.

Wow.

I really liked ST SOS. I'd love to own a cockpit, but the price is just nuts and the maintainability is hard.

They were out of this world when they came out. That beautiful, white enclosure, the way the sound and the bass in particular filled the seating area - when you took a hit, you knew it. BOOM.

I really thought Sega hit a home run with the engineering on that one. I loved to play it, I just got waxed way too often.

Oh I agree! I purchased a Wacko for 300.00 back a long time ago and it was restored. I kept it for many years had played ST as a kid but only uprights. Then I played a Captains Chair at Funspot and the search was on traded my Wacko for it none working. It took us about a week to get it fully functional again.

Wow the audio amp is very signature. Would not put the Vector Labs one in there, it takes away from it totally. I heard recently Vector Labs had upgraded their solid state amp in those Sega replacement supplies but I have not heard one.

To me nothing is like analog raw audio!

I sold the Captains Chair for about 5K when I downsized. I just do not have the space anymore for cockpits. It looked great against my 25" Ampliphone Star Wars Cockpit.

I sold the Star Wars for 9K at the same time to the same buyer.

I would like to find one of these games someday.

Someone challenged me and said that I would not find any more than the Pengo and I found the ST in less than five years after I found the Pengo, but I was not actively looking for them.

I just ran across them. I have found these for sale from non arcade collectors. The collectors keep them and do not sell them from my experience. There were 500 given away so more still in the winners homes I believe.
