Which arcade games won in the Halfsies cereal box contest do you have?

At the risk of being "that guy", the Halfsies Pengo mentioned by the original poster/SRW is now mine{making me its third overall owner}.

It's in beautiful shape, and is thisclose to being fully working{it apparently has a power supply issue, soon to be remedied}!

I had the good fortune of seeing/playing Jeff F's former Halfsies Star Trek in person{nearly a year-and-a-half ago/when he still had it}, and the original paperwork was fully there.

Awesomely, the mint condition of these contest winnings seem to have remained intact{at least the ones I know of}!

Thanks to Jeff for uploading the initial Post Cereal TV advertisement to YouTube, since I've referred to it numerous times while talking about Pengo.

Super Zaxxon is on my list of future purchases, but that's true whether or not it ends up being a Halfsies edition!

star trek ur

i am the proud owner of a halfsies star trek, the one jeff owned. he gave me all the paperwork when i purchased it, he recently gave me a nice framed picture that came with it. very nice clean ur still had some decal on the lock cylinders. we have recently been divorced, had the g08 shopped out was afraid it was gonna burn my house down, now its acting up and the game comes on when it feel like it. looks like i need to repair the pcb. put it in the garage and put a foodfight in its old spot. this game is like a gomatta/goomar, $$$$ high maintenance!
hope to go to counseling and work it out, this is one of my grails!

I just picked up an original cereal box to go with my Super Zaxxon. Here are pics of the box, and the t-shirt you could mail away for:

Holy crap! That shirt is awesome!

Interesting though that Star Trek is not on the shirt.

One of the many reminders that the 80s was the best decade ever. Winning a NIB Pengo would be the highlight of my year now.

I would buy a repro of that Tshirt if anyone decided to make it.

Loved that cereal!

I know right?

Who can make these shirts or even get a scan? If a scan can be done my wife might be able to turn it into an iron on.

I'm not sure if there is enough detail on this pic for me to redraw it, but if there is, or if someone has a better scan I can do a run of shirts if there is enough interest

I remember that. You could send in a self addressed, stamped envelope to get a free game piece so I sat there for (what seemed like) hours preparing each envelope to send out. My parents spent a fortune in stamps that day. About a couple of months later after I forgot about the whole thing, an avalanche of envelopes arrived in the mail. I feverishly went through each one... and didn't win.. bah!

I have a Super Zaxxon from this contest,.. but its not for sale. I also have the documentation from the contest and paperwork regarding the machine being wired for free play from the factory.

If anyone has the super zaxxon from this contest I would like to see about purchasing it.

Thank you!

It looks like Quaker stopped production of Halfsies in 1984 so it appears that this contest was a last ditch effort to improve sales. Apparently, the cereal tasted like a less sweet version of Cap 'N Crunch.

Cereal Pengo

This one is mine! I still have it and it's still running well. And no, it's not for sale. :)

There is a new England collector who has a Pengo that was won in the cereal contest.. He bought it from the original owner, but the guy never told him he had won it.. It sat in his shed for years before he finally dug it out and opened it up.. Once opened he found the letter and all the paperwork from the contest! Pretty cool.. It's a hella nice looking pengo too!

That is awesome. I have the Pengo with everything you speak of.

I recently bought a Super Zaxxon and I plan on restoring the artwork for the community and making this one new again.

I cannot blame you for keeping these and not selling them. It is just something special.

Knowing this contest existed and the stories told just made my day. Now I'm calling my mother and yelling at her for not telling me about this. How could she have missed that box in the food store?!

Funny that you bumped this, I was just talking with Pacray on tuesday and he was telling the story of how he got a home use Pengo from someone who won it in this contest and was trying for a while to find someone who would want it. It ended up going to an ice cream shop in Northern CO.

Recently picked up a Halfsies Star Trek Also

Now we have Pengo and Star Trek from the halfsies contest.

Still looking for the Super Zaxxon with documentation.

Let me know if you have one for sale. It must be nice and have the halfsies documentation.
