Which Arcade Games Do You Just Want to PLAY?

I was simply assuming that this guy lives alone and doesn't really have any major priorities. It would certainly depend on what his life is like.

And I could do without the condescending lecture.

You could also do with learning some respect. Oryk Zinyo's post was neither "condescending" nor a "lecture".

Oh, and since it's a personal policy to post all PMs in public...

Seriously, folks. Don't send me PMs.

Yup, I sent that PM to try and help you out. It wasn't even remotely about this post, it was about all of the CAA posts.

Why did you assume he lives alone? Very few people on these boards live alone, most of us have jobs and families.

As for the "lecture" it is reality. Some day you will get there...

Live with parents. just turned 22, have a girl who is basically my wife, major priorities include video games and girl. She supports the hobby so at any time I can go. But like I said, cost of gas in my car (hooked up nissan 240sx) is probably like 60$ for a round trip, plus food and drink, and I would like a friend come with because driving alone is boring.

paperboy and tapper. havent played either other than on mame since i was a kid.

Right now, I mostly want to try a genuine Varkon. That pin looks sick!

And yes, I tried Pong at the HAAG expo last year. It was a lot of fun but was more difficult than you might think!

I want to play all the EM games I missed out on as a kid. I did play some, but they were few and far between by the late 70's in the area I grew up in.

You're doing something wrong then. SFII: WW has worked in MAME for ages; it was one of the first games I got when I discovered MAME in 2002. In fact, every single incarnation of SFII works in MAME. Even SFIII works in MAME. The only Street Fighter game I know of that you can't play in MAME is the new SFIV.

He says he has sf2.zip. That's the only ROM he needs to play SFII: WW, as it is the master ROM. He may have the wrong version of the ROM. It is best to match the ROM version with the version of MAME you are running. Sometimes you can get away with mismatched versions, but other times, it won't work.
I've downloaded it from two different websites, and I have two different versions of MAME.

It doesn't work.

Your doing it wrong

I just took this..

No, Street Fighter II does not work on MAME.

I've tried.

I downloaded sf2.zip, kept it unzipped, and placed it in my "roms" folder.

Nothing.

If I'm reading your post correct, your unzipping the ROMS. Leave the ROMS zipped in the ROMS folder under the MAME directory. This may be your problem.

For me, I would like to play a mint Discs of Tron Env. It's been a long time.

It clearly doesn't work for you. However, that doesn't mean that it doesn't work in MAME in general; you know, for everyone else. Here is a video of someone playing it in MAME.

Ooops... that was a typo. I keep all my ROMs zipped.
