Finished up my 3rd successful cap kit last night. What a feeling of relief when the monitor is fired up after the capping and it works!

This one was for a 14" Matsushima monitor in my Monaco GP cabaret. I also hooked up the demagnetizing button, so I was able to degauss the tube as well.

Here are some pics:

Thanks. I think it helped the monitor too. :)
It wasn't too bad to begin with, but since I was doing other work on the machine, I figured I might as well get more practice doing another cap kit too. It was actually pretty smooth working on the Matsushima chassis. The integrated degaussing coil for this monitor is pretty sweet and a nice bonus. The other cap kits I've done were on WG chassis.

Looks good. I need to re-cap the 14" Matsushita in my Missile Command cocktail. Glad to hear it's fairly easy to work on. The last ones I did were also WG (4600s) which are a pain in the ass to get the boards out of.

Thanks.
To remove the chassis, I took out the 4 screws that hold the bottom plate on. Then I removed the 6 screws that hold the board to the monitor frame.
Disconnect the appropriate wires that connect the monitor to the chassis and you're good to go. Oh, I also had to remove the metal shield that surrounds the flyback so that I could get at the caps in that area.
