Hi everyone. Just picked up a Dk cocktail, and when turned on this is all the monitor does.https://picasaweb.google.com/104874...key=Gv1sRgCNTNi4a268CavAE#5635246195524714882

I want to check the voltages coming out of the power supply, but I don't know what pins to check.. On the DK jr. repair page it talks about the +5 +12 and -5 voltages, but where do I test these voltages at??? One one of the boards I do see 5 Test point pins.. 4 grouped together and tp1 off to the left of the others.. Are these the test points I use??

Thanks in advance!!
Chas

The 9 pin connector on the cpu board should have pins
1,2,3 gnd
4,5 +12V
6,7 +5V
8 -5V
9 +24V
The +24V is only for the coin counter so the board will run with or without it.

Ok.. After searching & searching I finally found the pinouts for the power supply.

All voltages are good except for the 7 pin sound plug.. I don't have the 16v on pins 1 and 2. I only read about .015-.016 volts. All other voltages are within specs.

my question is will this cause the game not to work, or just the sound???

Ok after separating all of the boards (4 board set) and cleaning all of the nicotine off of the eprom chips I noticed one of the chips was installed backwards. I installed everything properly and now it'll boot up good for maybe 10 seconds and then wigs out with sprites on the right side of the screen.. Before it did wig out I was able to coin up a game and start it.. Most of the sprites were missing except for DK himself. I'm going to post another thread if I can't figure out where to go from here.

Thanks!
Chas
