Hello to all!
I'm going to Vegas in a few months. Just wanted to know where a guy would go to see some classic games. I am going to see the the pinball hall of fame. And if you know of any good places to eat. At a good price "I might add" please feel free to let me know ;). Thanks klovers

There are some good classic video games at the Pinball Musuem there too. I had a blast killing several hours there on my last trip.

Food-wise you mostly get what you pay for. I've never had much luck with cheap eats there. Not a big fan of buffets either.

I'd spluge on something really good like one nice meal at the restaurant at Paris and then go budget for the rest.

Most of the casino arcades stink, especially the pinballs.

Very good stuff man! Lol yes one good meal would be nice, but you make it sound like it's going to be my last. Lol. Yep I can't wait to go. I'm looking forward to the pinball games :)

The best "casino" arcade that I have been to is the upstairs one on the second level at "Circus Circus". It's kind of above the front of the building, but to get to it, you have to go into the main open area where the trapeze is and then double-back up the stairs and around the midway area. You also can't go wrong with the Gameworks, particularly if you like Sega games. Across the street from there is the New York, New York which used to have an ENORMOUS arcade upstairs, but for some reason they cut it's size substantially a couple/few years back. You will find a couple of curiousities there (like an MTV Drumscape -look it up), but mostly newer games. I have not been to the pinball museum, but it sounds like a must-see.

For food, the best steak in town is at "Prime", which is located in the shopping area of Bellagio. The last time we ate there, I had a REAL Kobe steak, and it was insanely awesome. Forget about "American Kobe" or other imposters. The REAL DEAL gets flown in from Japan, costs big bucks and will NOT disappoint. Expect to pay $25 Per OUNCE of meat, but there will be no fat whatsoever. If you like Thai food, then you MUST go to the world famous "Lotus of Siam". It is a hole-in-the-wall joint, in the middle of a strip mall in a "questionable" looking area off the main strip, but it is EXCELLENT...

I think I know what you mean to say, but it's a pretty funny statement when the marbeled highly fatty meat is what sets Kobe beef apart in the first place.

New York New York, MGM, Luxor, Circus Circus and of course GameWorks are the best I know and I go to Vegas 2-3x a year since 1993.

Pinball Hall Of Fame is a cant miss for pins. Hands down the best.

Honestly if you're looking for Games in Vegas, outside of the Pinball HOF you're gonna be dissappointed. Most of whats left is redemption games, and the few arcade games left are usually poorly maintained. I didn't check out Gameworks last time I went, but I hear it's overpriced.

ALL of the fat that is within the meat "melts" at a very low cooking temperature. There will be no "wasted" fat sections in the ribeye once it has been cooked. The only fat present in the cut of beef that they will sell to you is "marbling" fat, as opposed to large fat sections that are normally discarded or not eaten when you cut a normal steak.

REAL Kobe beef is graded differently from USDA ratings. They are graded A1 through A5, with A5 taking on an almost completely white appearance due to the intense marbling. The fat that creates the "marbling" melts away when the meat is cooked, and Wagyu breed cows (which is the ONLY breed that can become "Kobe" beef) has fat that melts at the lowest temperature of all breeds of cattle. There are a LOT of places, even chain resturaunts, which CLAIM to sell "Kobe Style" burgers or steaks here in the US. But what they are doing is selling US raised Wagyu beef, which although it will tend to have "good" marbling (and MIGHT even meet the USDA standard for "Prime", which is the top 1%) it simply does not compare in ANY way to a high grade true Japanese Kobe steak. The last one that I had was 5 ounces of meat and cost $150. That doesn't SOUND like a lot of meat, but when you are savoring every bite, it actually is a decent size portion. I wasn't hungry afterwards, that's for sure. I was informed that IN JAPAN, they charge $2,000 for the same cut of meat.

I don't know about Kobe steaks, but two of my favorites are in the Rio Hotel and Casino. The All-American Bar & Grill (link to menu) has outstanding steaks and seafood at a much more reasonable prices. The World Buffet (also at the Rio) is my all time favorite Vegas buffet. Pricey at $24.98 (especially for somebody who remembers the $7.77 dinner buffets), but your eyes will drop out of your head when you see all the food on display.

When in Vegas we also tend to try some of the 'hole-in-the-wall' places off the strip as well. Last time we were there we found this little Mediterranean restaurant that had the best gyros. I think it was on Tropicana well away from the strip (on the airport side), but definitely stay away from the gyros place that is on all the billoards, bleech.

i went, i lost alot of money. The place is one big vacum, pointed directly at your wallet.

Get everything and anything you can off strip, because everything on the strip costs 20-50% more.. gamble off strip too, youll have better luck at a gas station or hole in the wall casino then you will in say the mgm grand.. and out of all of the slots the megabucks machines treated me the nicest.. plus if those hit big well you wont have to worry about mortgage payments anymore to say the least lol..

Honestly, as an occasional gambler, if you're putting your money into the slots, you might as well just set it on fire, at least that would be more entertaining. If you're looking to make money, the only way to do it is with the table games. Blackjack usually gives you the best short term odds, Roulette is good too, but stay away from Craps unless you really know what you're doing.

If you play black jack conservatively, you can literally sit at the table for HOURS playing on the same money. The key to that game is just only betting more on hands when there is a good "flow" of cards in the player's favor. It seems to cycle that way sometimes. If you keep bidding the same amount, you will go up and down around what you started with seemingly indefinitely...

Oh, and BY LAW all Las Vegas slot machines are set to pay out at a fixed percentage. Don't believe the stories about how some are "hotter" than others. There are some that will make you feel like you are getting "more chances" to win money by adding additional spins or other "bonuses", but the same percentage still applies. I own a Double Diamond Deluxe that used to be in the MGM Grand, and trust me, winning is completely random...
