Where to get black light for Asteroids Deluxe and Omega Race

Not sure if they are the same or not. Haven't even opened them up but thought I'd ask if someone knows of a good place to get these. Either a true black light or white black lights?

black lights

Omega Race is a standard blacklight "blue" you can get at walmart or home depot. Asteroids Deluxe and Space Invaders us a black light "white". You need to order those online.

Omega Race:
Black light "blue"

Asteroids Deluxe & Space Invaders:
Blick light "white"

Here is a link to a cheap source for both...

Cool...I just ordered 2 of each. I hope the fixtures are working ok! Thanks for the info!

bulbs

You're welcome. Happy to help.

Also note that while not a "purist" move, if your fixture is totally dead walmart has a whole ready to plug in light for $7. You can easily remove the existing fixture/ballast/starter and splice in the new one.

I only do that if the ballast is shot. Usually it's just the FS-2 starter that needs to be replaced.

Looks like they also carry the bulbs for UV EPROM erasers.

several posts on the forms on the black lights...

A quick search of the KLOV forums shows several posts on the black lights all with the same consensus as to what is original though opinions differ for which bulb people prefer in the cabs. As for the manual it does just say black light.

I have had several of each cab - Omega Race, Battlezone, Asteroids Deluxe, Space Invaders. All straight from sitting in operators warehouses for years. Everyone was as follows:

BLB - blacklight blue
Omega Race

BL - blacklight white
Battlezone
Asteroids Deluxe
Space Invaders

This got my attention. Do you know what the part number is? I have several e-proms that all need to be erased. Newbie trying to program 2732 and needed 2716.

Depends on the model of your EPROM eraser. The bulbs in them are the "germicidal" or "G" type.

So just to follow up, I bought both types of bulbs and tried them in the AD tonight. Went back and forth a couple times between them and my personal judgement is that the black black light is the far superior choice for this particular game. I can see why some might like the white one since it makes everything brighter. But to me it's too bright.

The black one shows the stuff that's supposed to pop out clearly enough though without also illuminating all the extra stuff in there that you really don't want to call attention to. Just my 2 cents worth.

I know this thread is old but I wanted to make it known how great bulbster is. They packed everything extremely well and I was very pleased with my order.
