I want to put a Simpsons/TMNT cabinet together to place on location so I (only I...not the customers) can switch the game. I'll switch it every few weeks. Anyway....

Where can I get a decent 2-way JAMMA switcher? JAMMAboards.com seems to be out of stock.

Not worth the $$ or headache for any of the import ones.

The ONLY one worth anything is the one Clay did that supports up to 8 boards. But it will run you $150-$200+ if you can still find any for sale.

The import ones are terrible and known for using horrible relays that die quickly and the design can cause other issues with interaction between boards/etc.. Search here for previous reports of problems.

If you are switching multiple times a day, look for Clay's.

If you are switching once a month, just move the Jamma harness/connector between the boards by reaching in through the coin door.

Do they make some sort of MALE to FEMALE Jamma cable for this thing?

Yeah they have those Jamma harness extensions on the same site, but I don't really recommend those. The soldering job is bad, some of the ground contacts are shorted out of lazyness. They're only 2-3 feet long as well, I'm still looking for a place that sells longer premade harnesses of good quality that I can buy with a credit card.

Bob's Jamma extension harnesses rock but you'll have to send him a check or have your online banking service do it.

Jammaboards extension harnesses were absolute shit by comparison. I ordered 3 of them, the games all acted up when I used one and 1 was DOA. I returned them.

Yeah I would have ordered from Bob long ago if i didn't have to get a cashiers check or bank info involved in the mix. May just bite the bullet and do it anyway once i have enough odds and ends together that I need to order again.

No cashiers check needed -- he takes personal checks. And it's just a couple of clicks with online bill pay. And before people jump on me for the delays with online bill pay, he's fine with it -- I asked him.

Had 3 of his extension harnesses for about 18 months now and they're rock solid -- as expected there's a very small voltage drop from using them but he (of course) has used the correct wires to carry power and all of the lines are supported so coin doors work, credit buttons, service menus, etc.

BTW, I like your nick -- pretty funny. :)

I just used another jamma harness, dpdt switch, and a bunch of diodes. Already had the harness, the diodes-switch and some solder, shrinkwrap cameup just under $20.

+1 on Mike's arcade double-Jamma.... No nonsense switching. A tad pricey but worth it for pure simplicity and reliability.
