where to get a block to hold my solder/desoldering tips

i have seen several on the web but i do not want to pay 40.00+ for a teflon / hi temp plastic block that can hold my tips.

if any body knows where to get a block of some type HIGH Temp plastic that would be great.

i can drill my own hols in it.

i do not want metal/ceramic/stone.

please link me what you find or know of.
or if anybody has one for sale PM me.

here is an example of what i am looking for below.

Peace

Tips are cold when not in use. Just make a wood block with some holes drilled to hold them, with a small metal dish or something like it mounted to the front for you to put hot tips for cooling...

Most shops that sell plastic to the retail market have a scrap bin that they are willing to sell at a discount price.

Teflon cutting boards can be had at the dollar store or at a thrift store.

I use to make Teflon slides for heavy oak furniture and for cabinet drawers.

i never thought about cutting up a cheap Teflon cutting board that is a good idea.

i will have to see if i have a local plastic shop around somewhere.

thanks for the recommendations.

I'll second the wood block idea...why not? It's easy to work with, cheap...if you don't like the wood look, hit it with a few coats of high temp spray paint from the home store. Just use hardwood & avoid softs.
