I'm sure it's been said a million times and I get it regarding the reasons for the situation, but the lack of readily available EXCELLENT Pacman art is a real shame and a missed opportunity for someone. I have to say, I've ordered a marquee from TwoBits and I think it's terrific. But when it comes to side art stencils and a
quality bezel (I have not heard from anyone that TwoBits' bezel quality has improved), it's CRAZY that these can't be easily obtained by the many of us who have and love a Pacman machine and want it as beautiful as the day it rolled away from the factory.
About eight years back, I "restored" the front and one side of my Pacman by hand-tracing the sad remnants of the art on the machine before I sanded it down. I used contact paper to transfer it back, and because my art was in such bad shape, I had to ad-lib a few areas. I have only done one side because it's ridiculously labor intensive to do the art with little brushes. I would love a crack at a stencil set, and would re-do the entire cab if I could get one, but I, like many others, don't yet have the right connections.
tl;dr: boo-hoo, I want good Pac art, too.
Here's a pic of how I traced the art. It took forever... two forevers if you include transferring it back onto the cab post paint and bondo. I'm super jealous of some of those nicer stenciled Pacmans out there.
