I recently came across a dart board, galaxy I think is what its called and a few of the shots don't register. I thinks the problem is in the mat behind the board ( not sure the proper name) that has the switches in it. Does anyone know the proper name for this and where I could get another one if needed.

Thanks,

That's a game made by Arachnid. The part you are talking about is called the switch matrix. It can be purchased from any Arachnid dart game distributor including your local ones.

I've "fixed" two of mine by taking them apart (pay attention to how it came apart) and cleaning the dust and garbage from the rubber mat and switch matrix. While in there pull apart the segments (black and red parts that the darts stick into) and clean all of the broken tips out.
Put it back together the reverse of taking apart and only finger tighten the thumb screws holding it all together. When they say finger tighten, that IMO means loosely.
From what I've seen on the cost of the matrix, it's not cheap.
