Hey Guys,

I've got 5 arcade units and I need 3x 19" monitors . Whats the cheapest way to get some? The only 19" I like is my G07 thats in my Berzerk slow bullets, all my other monitors either don't work, or can't be capped (I'm talking about my Hantarex here . . .).

I need a at least 3x 19" monitors . . . any recommendations?

Thanks

If you have existing monitors that don't work, the cheapest option for you is to ship the chassis off for repair.

What is wrong with the Hanatrex that it can not be caped??

What are the other models?

Actually the Hantarex seems to be ok but I can't seem to get the red bleeding under control.

The other monitor I have no idea what it is, came in my missile command, but all I get is a green line across the screen.

The weird thing is the Hantarex looks great in my RC31 Berzerk, image is solid, but red bleeds, I connect it to my Missile Command and the colors are great no bleeding but the image is wavy . . .

First off... There aren't any cheap monitors.. Unless you want broken crap.

You'll need to learn how to fix what you have or buy broken ones.. Then teach yourself how to swap tubes with donor tv tubes. That's what I do, and it can be cheap.

I want some one to show me how to swap tubes. Are there any videos posted anywhere showing exactly how to remove and swap the yokes/tubes?

Do a search on klov about 8liners.. Not the best route. He offers cheap Chinese chassis that are kinda drop in for classic tubes. You'd have better results with a rebuilt wells and a donor tube.

Yeah I have a friend that has been doing some monitor work for me, and I think I'll just keep getting them from him for now. Rebuilt a G07 for me, which is in my RC28 Berzerk and looks fantastic, sold me a WG K7000 which I'm getting this weekend which has no burn in and he's seeing if he can fix another G07 that I accidentally snapped the neck board on.

hey pete, i didn't mean 8liners.com, just whatever the monitors might be in these older poker machines i see all over:

Sounds like you have a good source! If you come across any monitors with terrible burn, grab em, and learn how to do a tube swap.

Anytime I see 8liners.. I think 8liners.com.. My bad

Ahh, cool your right! Totally forgot about pulling them from old 8liners (we call them poker or video slots here). Sometimes you can find really nice monitors in them, especially if they weren't used much.. As ops get busted with them here, and the state police pull the pcbs.. So sometimes you'll find a bunch that were lightly used.. Or it's the other case, as these are left on for 24hours a day and the tubes get burned to shit.. Have a few with video poker burn in them, really sucks..

But, these usually have newer wells monitors in them.. So pulling a tube from a black plastic case tv from the early to mid 90's is a breeze.. 1 out of 3 is usually a drop in replacement and no need to swap the yoke.
