Where to cut San Francisco Rush cabinet so I can get it in the basement

I bought a pair of San Francisco Rush the Rock games. The first was ok moving because it was a dedicated machine and unbolted in the middle allowing for it to be broken into two pieces. Well the other one is a conversion from an original Rush and doesn't break into two pieces. I have read where others have just cut it in half.

Does anyone have a recommendation on to where I should cut it?

I was thinking a straight cut right next to the seat part, like in my pic.

Success...

If anyone else attempts this, just remember to unplug the wires going to the seat so you don't cut them in the process.

All I did was yank the wires from the main cab and they unplugged. Jigsaw make the process pretty easy. I will put some edging on the cut pieces so it looks clean. Will have to think of some kind of brackets to reattach the two sections because they do not sit evenly anymore. This is because this model only has two wheels up front and two in the back.

I didn't bother cutting my cabs, although this method is a lot more work.

Wow, that looks like a lot more work. I only had to unplug two or three wire harnesses that went to the seat. But I still have to figure out how I am going to reattach the two sections. Need to figure out some kind of bracket that will detach easily if I need to move it out again.

Also, not sure if I should install some wheels in the mid section for extra support because this model only has two wheels toward the front and two in the back.

I would install another set of wheels, or at least something to brace it while you sit in it. Unless you install a serious bracket, you may have some sagging or wobble in that section you cut. Nice job though.

I'm going to install 4 additional wheels- 2 per section. I found almost the exact same wheels so it will sit even.

What should I put on the cut section to cover it up? I was thinking some kind of 90 degree angle plastic cover. (my cut is not even enough to try t-molding)

How should I reattach the two sections. My dedicated Rush the Rock has brackets. I can try to make some of those I guess.

How did this end up? I have two rush the rocks that I would love to split in half so I can move them.

Worked out perfect. Just remember to yank apart the cables that go to the seat first before any cutting. (They will come apart because the have connectors under there) might take a little finesse to reattach when putting back together.
When I added four more wheels, they were equally placed like the originals (one either side of the cut). It takes the weight off where it was cut and whatever bracket you use to hold it together.
