it is the go-to product for securing peeling silkscrened glass artwork...

basically its sprayed on the backside of glass bezels, pinball backglasses, etc to hold the artwork in place and hopefully stop it from peeling more.

Is this recommended for an old backglass that is in great shape already? Or just for something that is already peeling?

If glass has no signs of flaking period don't apply it. If you see some flaking started then mask clear areas with blue masking tape. Spray light coats. If you touch up an area I recommend painting it with silver to ensure no light comes through to show the touch up. Practice on junk glass first. Use acrylic paints that can wipe off if you goof up. I just saved my High Speed Back Glass. Paint was chipping in hat area and a few small spots. It is a glass that seems hard to find mint.
