where is the arcade at disney world?

If you go to Magic Kingdom they have an arcade right next to Space Mountain. There's also an arcade at Hollywood Studios (MGM) - I think around the Muppets 3D, they have a couple games and a few on the 2nd floor last time I was there. No arcades at Epcot or Animal Kingdom though.

Theres also an arcade in the Contemporary hotel. That one has a pretty good selection but mostly modern stuff. 4 stern pins, Tron, Elvis, Lord of the Rings and something else...
I remember there was a Star Wars: ep 1 pin by Space Mountain and then a few other Sterns. That one had a lot of the modern day classic remakes too.

I didn't see a wreck-it-ralph at either one of those though (was there about 2 weeks ago)

There's a pizza shop in the disney campground that has a mspac. Oh, wait a minute, that was 30 years ago. Nevermind.

Disney has been downsizing their arcades even more so lately. I'm an annual pass holder (we are Disney nerds) and I'm constantly in the parks or at the hotels, always keeping tabs on the arcades.

The Space Mountain arcade's days are numbered. They pull out more games every few months. They don't have much of a budget for this stuff and don't have techs to repair the games or take care of them so when they break, they stay broken and are usually taken to auction. Games I've loved like Outrun 2 twin, Outrun 2 SP deluxe, even a old 4 player X-Men and Virtual Fighter 4 Evo which were present last year are all gone. Pieces of Outrun 2 are stashed under the basketball hoops! The pins have shrunk from 7 to 4, but are not worth playing, they're left for dead. Elvis has been about 15 degrees crooked for 2 years.

You will find the same exact games from arcade to arcade, they don't have much variance anymore.

Arcades easily accessed as a guest:
Downtown Disney (West Side): DisneyQuest - requires separate admission but the classic arcade is here, not sure about newer games anymore haven't been in a long time
Magic Kingdom - Space Mountain (used to be a truly EPIC arcade in the mid 90s when it opened, now its just awful)
Hollywood Studios - Planet Pizza (this arcade has shrunk quite a bit in just a year, FERRARI F355 DELUXE IS NO LONGER HERE! There were 3 on property, 2 were parted out to make this one PERFECT for about 3 months, its now been sold)
Contemporary - main concourse (although it used to be in the basement and was THE MOST EPIC ARCADE IN HISTORY at one point in time)
Grand Floridian - Snack Bar by the main pool. I think there's maybe 5 -8 games left here. This used to be a fun arcade in the 90s that had around 30 games.
Polynesian - Next to Captain Cooks snack bar. About 12 games here. This moved from the "Fun Hut" that had 30-40 games 10 years ago.

There are gamerooms at both the Wilderness Lodge hotel and Fort Wilderness Campground too. Neither are huge. The one at the lodge had a Sea Wolf, Blazing angels, Tokyo drift, maze of the kings, a bowling game, basketball game, Star Wars, Stacker, sports station and a couple of other instant redemption and driving games.

i checked out disneyquest on youtube and it looks ok. i guess i'll have to wait for a trip to funspot to get my fix. im sure i can find something besides games on this visit. thanks guys for your help!

As someone who works at Disney, let me warn you that the classics are sometimes in various states of repair. And don't even try to play pinball at DisneyQuest--horrible. But there are about 8 Wreck-It Ralph's for you to play!

Do they have techs on site to fix these games/pins? maybe after business hours? a lot of times I've been to Disney Quest and most of the classic games have some type of issue.

From what I hear, DQ has one tech now to handle all the games. He brings in a helper every once in awhile, but last time I went it was just sad. Hell, I offered to help, and they said no, we have a vendor for that.

Makes me sad. But it does seem that the hotels have the nicer arcades, and I know that Art of Animation has a Tron pin and a Namco Reunion. They were going to put WIR at all the hotels, but because they couldn't use money, they all ended up at DQ for now.

+1 on the Contemporary being the most epic arcade ever. When you guys talk about the classics they may have, are you speaking of DK, Ms Pac, Q*Bert, etc?

They don't have any true classics anymore. They just have a few of the reboots from a few years ago (I.e., Ms. Pac/Galaga).

with the kind of money Disney makes you would think they would have more then 1 tech for the games, that tech at DQ must be swamped with work then
