where/how to get vintage video game books for cheap.

this thread made me think of what i do to find older books, and i thought i'd show you guys

per steverd's website -

first, you either know what book you want, or steverd's page here -

http://www.steverd.com/whatbook/whatbook.htm

has pictures of most of the gamebooks as well.

then, look at steverd's text list and grab the ISBN number off the page for the particular book, and search amazon for the ISBN number.

here's the text book listing, which pretty much covers every video game book and has isbn, author info, etc...

if you do this, you'll save money in the long run. most of these old books go for up to $50 or more, like the donkey kong books. amazon usually has many copies of the same book for really low costs.

Great tips here :)
I've always found amazon books to be the cheapest option, but your links make it a lot easier to find some of these obscure titles' ISBN..

Thanks for this :)

Thanks for the tips. The ISDN numbers really helped -- I just placed an order for a couple of books through my secret for finding these books - alibris.com.

Are there PDFs of any these floating around? The asking prices on the Donkey Kong books are out of my league.
