Where have all the games been on my local craigslist?

I am so bummed with Craigslist in the last two months. I have been collecting for a couple years now and I used to find two or three games a week I was interested in but here recently I haven't seen crap. Am I getting lazy and not checking enough or is my local market getting dried up? Has anyone else seen this trend in your local craigslist? Just wondering. It has always been a good source for me in the past.

I'm fairly new to scouring CL,(since Jan) but I haven't found much of anything in my area or in the areas around me.I'm hoping this will turn around,as I'd love to score some good deals like a lot of the klovers in the northeast/midwest.

How can you say there are no deals in the area?! Up here in Indy there's a guy who's been posting a Big Buck Hunter (which, apparently, is the hottest arcade game around) for the low, low, price of $4000 like twenty times a day for the past month. I can't believe someone hasn't jumped on it...

I think Aaron (from Speedway) has been running down here and grabbing them all! :)

LOL. He has been posting that everywhere. I saw one guy posted something telling him no one wants his game. LOL

Yea, we've got a couple like that too. Some guy from VA has been posting the same three games for last 3 months at least once a week. Some other guy has jumped in with 2 shi**y games, wants $400 for both but "no offers". They've been up for two months. Maybe he should take a hint. Deals around here have been there but definitly not around for long when they do show.

the Austin area has a few people like that. Guys selling their hacked up MAMEcabs for $3000 without the PC or ROMs, asking $900 for a Street Fighter II cab that doesn't have video, and there's even one group of people that refuse to put any contact info into the ad. They put their address and state you can come by and look at the games between time A and time B on the weekend, and NO they won't split all 3 games up, you have to buy them ALL and move them ALL at the same time for like $700. And to top it off they are all beat up POSes.

But the last year or so I've had incredible luck with craigslist. I found a free Street Fighter II that didn't work but I was able to get it working and sell it for $250. Then I used that $250 to buy a Megalo 410 candy cab from a guy in Buda (south of austin) off of craigslist and it came with 3 games. Alien Vs Predator CPS2, Battle Circuit CPS2 and King of Fighters 2003 (PCB). I was able to sell AVP and Battle Circuit for $300 which paid for the cab. Then I had to do some repairs to the projection monitor in that Megalo, but when I couldn't fit it into my house I sold it for $650, and used that to buy 2 cabs at a local SuperAuction event.

I sold both of those cabs for $400 and $600 and around the same time, I found my lovely little Neo25 cab for $250. I even found a Dynamo Foosball table for $75 because some woman was selling it from her divorce. Turned around and sold that for $450 on craigs. My luck's sorta dried up lately but there are definitely always deals to be had. Just gotta keep lookin!

Honestly never found anything on CL and don't waste my time with it anymore. All we have here is people looking to take your old games and that's about it for adds.

It is really hit or miss like a flea market or garage sale. Not to mention it seems like the pool of people looking on CL for games has really gone up in the last few years. Having said that, I think about 90% of the games I own have come from craigslist.
