Where do you order your cabs from?

DPtwiz makes beautiful cabs, i've met him in person and have seen the cabs too...look him up on this forum and message him about what types he has

true, Ive seen his posts over the years.

I am trying to avoid the painting part this time around. I think he just does unfinished woodwork.

have you 2 bought from these people? Im askign because anyone can google cocktail table kit, Im looking for someone whos gotten a kit and been happy.

Yes I have bought cocktail kits from Arcade Depot, and the quality is great. I have only purchased the base kit unstained, so I can't speak for the quality of thei stain service. The kit itself is outstanding.

I just talked to DPTwiz, he offers that black finish (melamine), which is the way i might go anyway.

Only issue is he doesnt offer CPs or any other finishing items. like mameroom does.

Plus im on the fence about a true arcade monitor or rigging a PC CRT facing up.

If i go with DPT, who sells the CPs, coin doors, and even the tempered glass i would need?

my own cocktail builds

DSC00263.JPG

here's my very first and only scratch builds. I made two of these from Arcade Depot kits where I used Dell 20" monitors that I decased. Things worked out really well with the 60:1's that I used but if I did it again, I would do it totally different. I would actually use shelf mounted RGB arcade monitors. The VGA monitors were hell to mount as I basically had to measure and space them out by hand, finding anything I could to block out a mounting for the monitor. They are also heavy as hell and a paint to mount. The look just barely works.

I replicated the Reunion graphics and printed them out myself for the underlay. I still have the file if you want it. It fits the Arcade Depot glass perfectly. The cost after everything is very high but I also had a new machine. I've run across reunion cocktails for less than I built these for.

Michiganclassicarcade.com also makes cabinets, they do a great job I bought a DK off them and picked it up. They make them out of MDF tho so they are durable but heavy.

I paid the same price $375 for mine at michiganclassicarcade, they also carry the classic profile templates for the cabinets in case you try and built one yourself they already have the profile for you so you don't have to figure out the measurements. I had to get a piece of glass cut for my cocktail and they had the template for it. Instead of ordering the glass for over 100 bucks online, I bought the template and had the glass cut for 25 bucks at a local glass shop. If anything ever happens to my glass top I can just get another piece cut. A friend of mine needed glass also so I just loaned him my template.

Read more about Michigan Classic Arcade in this classic thread. The hilarity begins at post #68. If anyone decides to do business with them, they are either stupid or retarded or possibly both. Anyhow 'dkbuilder' is likely just a new name the michigan classic arcade guy registered to plug his site.

Where/how did you print your overlay?

you wonder how accurate michiganclassic cabs are when he PM's me for dimensions on the cab.

I was thinking the same thing. Buyer beware.

He's made it clear that he used the free Jakeobud templates which are not even close to accurate.

1. Michigan Classic Arcade is a thief of other peoples files.
2. Michigan Classic Arcade is a total...(nevermind, read the thread)
3. Davidski have you done any internet searches at all? I mean come on, seriously. What is next, you want one of us to come assemble the damn thing for you? Ask about wiring, go ahead. If anybody points me out on wiring for you and I will point back with my middle finger extended.
4. DPTWiz is NOT the only cab builder out there, he is just one of the Best that there is with decent prices.
