I am looking for a new set of coin door bolts for my dk machine. Just to clarify....i need the bolts that attach the coin door to the cabinet. If anyone knows where i can purchase please let me know. thanks!!

Ok...how bout restoring the ones I have? Anyone know how to do that?

If it's just minor rust you can soak the heads in CLR for a bit and they'll typically come out great.

Heavy rust and scrapes are tough. I'm sure you can sand and then somehow polish the metal but my limited research on metal polishing suggested you need special tools to get good results. The hardest thing is going to be reproducing the shine.

Am I missing something? I bought some nice metric carriage bolts at the local hardware store, they look just like the originals but stainless.

I was all over the place looking for CP carriage bolts for Nintendo metal cps a few months back. I can't remember it was M4 or M5 size. I found one place in the UK that had the right size but it was expensive. The thing with these is, if you don't have the right size the bolt will spin.

I'd love to get some if you've got em.

Bench grinder with a wire wheel is what I use. Do small passes with a light touch until you see the head is smooth, shiny and clean, then either use metal polish, wax or clearcoat to enhance and preserve the shine. Nothing to it. I restore all my Ninty bolts in this manner cuz they are such a bitch to source.

do a search on rec.games.pinball

He's VERY popular there, and you know the pinball restorers are meticulous about these things. I had some parts replated by considering the replating and shipping, it was VERY reasonable. I hope to get more parts plated in the future, such as Paperboy handlebars.
