Where can I get the plastic pieces that hold the marquee to glass on KI/MK2 cabs?

I can't seem to find them or what they're called and the ones on my KI cab are cracked.

you can try the stern backglass top from pinlife here: http://www.pinballlife.com/index.php?p=catalog&parent=213&pg=1 (pretty sure you'll need 2 per marquee if you do both the top and bottom).

or

you can use poster edging, which is sold at crafts stores/wallyworld/most places that sell posters (it's a thin plastic channel that goes on the top and bottom of posters, it's a pain to work with but it works).

If you get the stuff from pinlife let me know what you think of it as i was planning on using it myself.

you only really need it for the top of the marquee not so much the bottom.

Broodwich,

Once again, you rock ;). I swear you must have some sort of automatic alert setup for threads with "KI" or "Killer Instinct" in them with how quick you seem to reply :p. I might just have to stick "KI" somewhere in every question I post...

I might see if I can hit a craft store tonight or tomorrow but if I don't like what I find I'll definitely order from pinlife and let you know how it turns out.

Thanks again!

I ended up doing both actually. I ordered from pinlife but then got curious/impatient and drove to Michaels. While they had stand-alone poster holders they only came in 24" lengths. However, poster frames were 40% off so I ended up getting an 11.75" x 36" one for around $8. The edging on this poster frame worked amazingly well! I'll posta few pics later in case anyone is looking for the same thing.

I'll let you know how the stuff from pinlife works out when it gets here.

I saw that and the description sounds right but the picture looks like the top piece that bolts to the cabinet.

i'd definitely like to see what you get from pinlife and what you did with the stuff from michaels. I used the 24" stuff on a couple cabs (just the tops as i had enough to do the bottoms in every one of mine /phew).

Honestly if anyone ever finds a source for the original stuff i'm going to buy at least $50 worth before shipping lol.

The Pinball Life Williams stuff is manufactured by Pinball Inc. here in GA from the original tooling. It's as perfect as you'll get since I think Midway used the same tooling (but in different lengths) since they were the same company at that point.

Here are some pics of the poster frame marquee holder:

The label from the frame at Michael's (with SKU)
The edge pulled off
Side view on marquee glass (note the perfect fit, snug but easy to get on)
Front view 1 (with MK3 marquee installed just for fun)

I'm excited to get home today as I have a package with NOS MK2 and NOS KI marquees that are "Out for Delivery" ;)

Also, I just got an email that my order from pinlife shipped today.

Edit: I forgot one photo. I cut the thin plastic front of the poster frame to match the glass in order to better hold the marquee to the glass and prevent any sagging in the middle.

hah nice! thanks for the pics. did you get your marquees of ebay or from Arcade services?

The brackets from pinlife turned out REALLY nice. They're VERY close to the originals. Same shape and everything just slightly thicker (<1mm, not enough to be visible unless looking at both together but enough to make them feel a little sturdier).
