Offset cams are driving me nucking futz. Out of the 7 games I have, only two came with a full/correct set of cams for all of the locks. Problem is, I can't find the correct offset cams for the remaining locks. For example, my TRON that has a correct set has a 7/8" lock for the back with an ~ 1/2" offset. See below:

It needs that long cam and offset to compensate for the plate/screws that prevents the whole lock mechanism from turning.

The coin door lock is 5/8" with an ~ 1/2" "bent" offset. This setup works, but it's very tight (I can feel it rubbing the metal stop when turning the lock).

Where can I get extras of these (and a more correct non bent cam with a step 1/2" offset)? I don't think Bob Roberts sells 1/2" offset cams and the largest offset on the Happ site is 3/8". The cam length on the TRON back door is 2". If I use a straight cam on a 7/8" back door lock it won't work because it'll get hung up on the screw. If I use a straight cam on a 1 1/8" lock, there's too much slop in the door.

Finally, I need this kind of lock for a separate lock box. I'm not really sure what it's called.

Pull the lock, head to a Locksmith

Why not pull the lock and take it to a locksmith, who can re-key the lock to your desires? Many good arcade locks can be re-keyed or even have a key made by a good locksmith.

If they are all the same brand, you may be able to get them all keyed alike.

I'm not a locksmith, and don't play one on TV. (e.g., I have no financial interest).

Otherwise, look at the end, and find a similar lock. Pinball Resource and Marco Specialty have locks, to name a few. Otherwise, you should be able to hit HAPP/SUZO. They have tons, but they tend to be expensive.

If you find a source please post it here. I need a couple of those offset cams as well and one of those large mechs like you pictured also.

EDIT: Aside from the funky lock in the bottom pciture, I actually only need the proper offset cams, not the locks.

I'm hoping someone here has a source for these. I've seen offset cams included in some of the lock sets @ Lowe's/HD, but none are long enough for the back door. I'd like to be able to buy them without having to buy the whole lock set, especially since I can get the locks cheaper from folks here.

yes but they are no help

Most arcade game and pinball locks are made by Fort Lock:

you can't buy direct and all they will do is give you a distributor listing, I even inquired to be a distributor and they said they were not interested in any more distributors. They even told me to go see a lock smith even no I was trying to buy a large quantity of locks. I have been buying them from betson and have over 50 keyed alike locks when I went to buy another 50 they literally doubled the price for them so I was interested in becoming a distributor to buy the locks for myself as well as sell here. They are hands down the best lock though :( makes me sad how they were so rude and unhelpful.

I identified the lock for you…we sell through wholesalers/distributors only. You can contact one of them, but they most likely will direct you to one on their resellers.

Comments: I'm trying to identify a lock made by fort lock, on the key it's stamped 750xxx W18 on the lock the only mark is 752. Could you help me identify it, I can send a picture if it would help. Also do you sell direct or what does it take to become a distributor.

There's actually a distributor near me (well, about 25 mi one way). I just need to check the CompX catalog to see if they make the cam I need. I can imagine needing to buy a box of 50 or so, though.

I have no idea why these offset cams aren't more widely available. If I have the time this weekend, I might check out an Ace and a couple mom & pop shops to see if they have any. What the hell did people do with these when they pulled them off the doors?

I suppose if it came down to it I could somehow affix a 1/2" plastic/wood/metal piece to the door the make up the difference.

we are neighbors

we are neighbors, what distributor is that?
