A Coin Comparitor for the Wild Rose Bally's Machine.....I keep getting code 20 "Coin Stuck in Optical Drive too long" I have replaced the coin and adjusted the sensitivity...(nob in bottom right hand corner of coin mech). The machine works but it will only accept bills and no quarters they just fall right through. Also the spring doesn't hold the coin in place very well any more.

I'll see if I can get ahold of my slot contact. It may take a week for an answer, but I will let you know.

In your picture the coin looks like it is sitting low in the holder, probably because of the weak spring you mentioned. I would try to tighten up the spring so that it holds the quarter up higher. If that doesn't work, let me know and I'll see if I can rustle you up a working coin comparitor from my collection of parts.

I was able to find one locally but I'm still getting the same error code 20.....I can clear it by adjusting the sensitivity but then the quarters fall straight through to the bottom collection try....any ideas?

Have you checked the power at the comparitor? I would check that it was getting correct voltage. Beyond that, it may be an mpu issue.

This maybe a dumb question but the little led indicator on both units does not illuminate (by both units I mean the old comparitor and the new one I just installed.) Should it illuminate meaning it is getting power or is that some sorta error indicator?

The LEDs on my machines are not lit during normal operation. One of them flashed on power up, but I am not sure if that is typical or not. I assume your replacement comparitor is the same model as the old one - a CC16D I believe. There are a whole lot of different comparitors that look pretty much the same.

I would check the simple stuff like is the connector making good contact with all the pins, is there continuity to the mpu, and if the power is good. I can answer any more questions about what the machine does, but other than that I'm afraid I am not going to be much help.
