My buddy Allan and I were working his Aladdin's Choice cab today with a new monitor and where testing power when he got a little carried away probing away with his multimeter and tested something he shouldn't have and we blew the breaker on the wall. After that we noticed that his power switch on top of the cab was no longer working in that the power was continuous, it wouldn't shut off by flipping the switch. We inspected the switch and it still looked fine. We followed the wires down to the power brick and they lead into this filter thing. I am not sure what they are called, but this one is model number a10gen1c11.
Could we have shorted this thing out and that is why the power switch is no longer working? I am attaching a picture.
So assuming this thing might be bad, where would we go about finding one? I looked around online but it seems they can only be bought in bulk.
Thanks.
