WHERE ARE OUR TAPPER CPOs that we PRE-PAID FOR?!?!?!

I am moving this to the main forum discussion because I think it is absolute crap that we don't have these CPOs yet!! The seller asked for 100% prepayment and has NOT DELIVERED. Where is my money? Where is my product? What the hell is going on????

I paid for this CPO about 100 DAYS AGO. WTF!!?!??!

I'm sorry if I seem simple and petty, but this does not seem right to me. I don't usually bitch about stuff but this is really bothering me. I just don't believe that it would take over 100 days to get something right especially after accepting HUNDREDS of dollars from buyers. Personally, if people sent me money to make something I would make that shit, RIGHT AND FAST!

DISCUSS!!!!!!!!!

My thoughts:

I paid for this about 100 (YES, ONE HUNDRED) days ago. Where the frick is my CPO?!?!? Seriously, where is it? There is no reason this should take so long -- especially since you asked us to prepay!!!! (yes, it has taken me a long time to make a Popeye instruction sticker but I didn't collect money!!!!!!!) What have you been doing with my money? PLEASE EXPLAIN. WHAT HAVE YOU BEEN DOING WITH MY MONEY!!?! I trusted you with this and would have expected the CPO at least 2 months ago. What the hell is going on??? We demand an answer to this and now!!

BTW - from this moment forward, I don't think that it is fair for ANYONE to demand a 100% prepayment for a print job. If you want to print shit and sell it (FOR PROFIT) then you need to assume 100% of the risk. You need to invest in your own damn project. NO MORE 100% PREPAYMENT SHIT. Don't push this risk onto your customers! Don't ask for 100% payment upfront. That's total bullcrap. Ask for 25% or 50% deposit... that makes sense. NOT 100% PREPAYMENT... totally not fair to the buyer. Totally one sided. If you want to make a profit and sell shit then pony up your own frickin' dollars in order to make YOUR profit. YOU, the seller, need to assume some or MOST of the risk. NOT the buyer. DO NOT push 100% of this investment onto your customers and NOT DELIVER. That's total bullshit. ABSOLUTE BULLSHIT. If you delivered in a timely fashion, then cool. But YOU DID NOT. Instead, you took all of our money and have taken your sweet ass time. What are you doing with our money? ABSOLUTE CRAP. SEND ME MY CPO!!!

did you read the last page of the thread you linked?

there was an update on the 12th that said there was some issues that they are working on fixing in order to make them perfect.

this is not like the star wars yoke fiasco where dave dropped off the planet.

unbunch your panties, and be a bit more patient.

I kind of agree with you. While I am in no rush for the cpo I think we are all owed some updates to the status since it was supposed to be completed mid July...that was why I was asking for updates too..

Yes, that last page of thread which was posted on 8/12 was this:

apper cpo's
Rich@thisoldgame is in the process of making some changes to the samples for me to go over. He should have them done by the end of the week.

Rich S.

The seller (who took our hundreds of dollars) said the CPOs would be done the end of the week (of the 12th) which would have been 8/15 which is now 13 days ago. We HAVE NOT received an update since. DO NOT TAKE OUR MONEY if you cannot deliver. Total BULLSHIT!

I would love to create a business where I assume no risk and ask people to send me money so I can make products for them at my leisure. Sorry, life doesn't work that way and we need to call a spade a spade here. SEND US OUR CPOs.

I read that to mean that Rich would have the changes and the samples to the OP by the end of the week, not that you would have the CPO's by then.

I can't remember exactly how long it took to get my BT cpo from him, but I know it was longer than I expected, however it was worth the wait. He does great work.

Well, I hope I am foolish and wrong about this and there is a Tapper CPO in my mailbox. However, I seriously doubt it!

I agree with you.... that is bullshit.. plain and simple. Personally if I paid that much for an item I would be upset as well in this situation. Maybe there are people out there who have enough money that this wouldn't bother them, but not me. I'd be pissed.

It's funny, If I make a thread like this with someone who hasn't delivered on something, I get chastised, and multiple people think I should just be thankful someone is doing it because "it's just arcade parts and we've been waiting over a year for Donkey Kong II art or something" etc.

Happened to me twice already with respected members on these very forums and all I did was pay for stuff and wondered where things were 3-4 weeks later and got yelled at about it.

Bottom line is, I agree with blkdog7, if you pay for something and it takes THIS long and you didn't know it was going to take this long nor do you have communication about it, it's as bogus as can be. I hate the excuse of you should just be ok with it.

When someone pays for something I post or sell, I send it quick because time is money and I don't want to be waiting around either.

I don't know the details of this Tapper thing, but I do know there are people on this forum that defend the 3-4 month waiting people.

I just paid my money for a Tapper CPO a few weeks 2 weeks ago in this project. Should I be worried?

Yes, you should be worried because we haven't had an update in almost two weeks and I personally paid for this about 100 days ago. So, do you think anything is going to change and soon?

Give it time... it's late on a friday, I'm sure others will be chiming in shortly, and Michael will be munching away at the popcorn...

well, you see who is supposed to be doing the actual work. I know a guy locally who bought from the same place and hasn't got his stuff in months. Let alone all the Agent X artwork buyers.. what's that been.. 2 years now?

I'm sure the guy is going to deliver, people have life issues; etc, but we ALL have life issues. My biggest gripe is when I get yelled at by people that for some reason think I should just accept things the way they are..and honestly, when people say "it's not my full time job" and "I can't find a box" and excuses like that and people DEFEND that, it just drives me insane.

I'm still never going to forget the game I got on this forum from a guy who is respected and he shipped it with the chassis duct taped to the monitor base....and apparently that is ok, not even an apology, LOL

I am sure he is going to deliver too. I like Rich, but I think there is another force here. I have waited 100 days now and that feels like ENOUGH waiting. A bunch of people sent their money... hundreds if not THOUSANDS of dollars, and no one has anything to show for it. That is NOT RIGHT. Because these guys have our money and they have done nothing to ship, or communicate to us, in the last couple of weeks, it is far from right. ABSOLUTE CRAP. I am not willing to accept it. DO NOT TAKE OUR MONEY IF YOU CANNOT DELIVER. That's my beef. That's the only beef. DON'T take the money if you can't deliver. 100 days with no delivery after payment is inexcusable! PERIOD. I really want to know what has been done with our money since you took it. It's a fair question. It's our money and we have nothing to show for it. So, how did you spend our money?

My thoughts:

I have never heard anything but praise for the work that this old game does.

suppose he had printed the cpo's up just so impatient people didn't have to wait. people would bitch that there were errors or colors that didn't match. in something like this it will always be best to get it right the first time. if it takes a little while longer than you want to wait, then quietly request a refund. if you want a substandard cpo then have them send you the graphic file as it stands now and you can have mamemarquees print it for you.

there is really no need to start drama over this. it is not like there has not been updates.

relax, don't be a bad egg

(edit) I'm not trying to say that mamemarquees makes substandard stuff, just that they can do one piece at a time, where (i believe) this old game needs to do a whole batch at a time.

Like I said, I like Rich. I don't think this is about Rich...

We have had no updates for 14 days. And, are you telling me it takes 100 days to make a VERY SIMPLE CPO? A very simple screen printed piece? Ok....

I always thought people understood that prepaying to join in an overlay project was a risk and would almost certainly not go according to plan. 100 days to do a repro project is far from out of the ordinary for super short runs, often folks managing their first project simply don't have any experience to know how fast stuff can be done and really dont' know the process. Just how detailed can you be? How many revisions do you get before the printer tells you to go away or charges you fees? How many cracks at a color match do you get? At what point do you accept it? So many variables in time and money nobody can predict.

Go ahead, call a printer and see how much 30 pieces of tapper CPO will cost you. They do the art, they do the films, 7 colors, they're on the hook to send as many tests as it takes until everyone's happy. Now, once they get done laughing at you, tell them they have to be delivered in 100 days and they better be anal collector perfect in terms of detail and color matching. I bet after that phone call you'll understand why people do preorders, how much 'profit' there is, and why there are so few repros that are hard to tell from originals.

Relax, have patience and don't be so angry over so little. By the way, why do you feel tapper cpo is simple? Look close, you're an artist. Tell me those color separations and matches are simple to screen print with all those halftones.
