where are all of the veteran KLOVers?

and mark spaeth is hudsonarcade now

Well now I feel like the big dummy. I had no idea. And the other day RareHero or one of the other Stooges called him "Mark" and I was wondering if I knew him...

I just thought I had another scotch drinking buddy here.

"Rape Enthusiast" should have been a tipoff too -- since the useless "moderators" let that little gem remain uncensored (again).

Yeah, I saw that and thought it was particularly douchey. I started changing RareHero's name in quotes to Curly, and by doing that to him he discovered a new way to harass people who disagree with him. Leave it to him to push the envelope as far as being very insulting.

Thanks all for the updates.. I prob should have said that I remembered those members whom I listed as "more frequent" posters rather than "veterans", since I used to see their names all the time under new threads. Glad to hear for the most part that everyone is still in tact here.

And did not know about Mark's handle change, glad to see the regular crew is still here.

And for those who know of members who go way back beyond those whom I listed as "veterans", those whom I posted were veterans to me because they were here long before I arrived. I couldn't possibly post ALL of the veterans here, as KLOV's just been around too damm long. :D

It looks tho from the replies on this thread, that I wasn't the only one who thought some folks had either dropped dead or morphed into some other type of carbon-based life form.

And for people like noice who said that he's "married and has a life now", it was when I got married and had kids that I became trapped at home and had to resort to talking to people online rather than at bars and clubs so, make sure your idea of "a life" is an accurate one!!! I didn't collect arcade games before I got married, I was out in the world playing them in the wild!! :D :D :D

You registered 2 years ago so that makes everyone on here longer than 2 years a veteran ?

I think anyone who stays dedicated to a Forum for over 2 years should be a veteran of SOME sorts, dontcha think? (keep in mind that this is coming from someone who had to live BEFORE the internet was born- I still have nightmares about what I did before the InterWebs... )

I'm still around and posting, just keeping a lower profile these days.

I've mostly given up on the political threads because they are a waste of time but I still occasionally post in one.

I'm focusing my posts mostly in areas where I can contribute something (Spy Hunter, Gauntlet Legends, etc) or when I run into issues where I need to tap the collective wisdom here.

And I've been married with kids for a long time now. :)

I expect we'll always see people coming and going from here...

Good to see you out there still, demogo :)

Another thing is that even though some are newer on here, we were on RGVAC long before a lot of people here had even registered. There are some of us that go back to 95-96 and even before. We just all started migrating from over there once all the internet suppliers killed their newsgroups, etc... and the traffic over there died off drastically.

Ya, i think i was completely off the internet as far as arcade related stuff goes ( other than ordering parts) for about 5 or 6 years. RGVAC just got too lame.

Ah, that's what killed off RGVAC... it's down to a handful of new posts a day now.

Us useless moderators only change things when we're made aware of them. and by the way, this useless moderator edited the post that was reported.

Way to win friends and influence people, Mark!

I read that book twice and people still hate me... hmph.

Aynwho, I'm a veteran. Served my 4+ in the Navy, VFA-97 "The Warhawks"... we started on F18A's but shortly after I got there we were upgraded to C's. Attached to, oddly enough, MAG-12 out of Iwakuni Japan... ... oooohhhhh.... you mean old members? Yeah, been here off and on forever and a day too.

I think alot of guys come into this hobby all gung-ho ,and they get burned out fast. You really need to have a passion for this hobby to survive. It way to easy to get caught up in a buying frenzy and then have rooms full of projects and crap. Alot of guys come and go in this hobby, but there are several die-hards that are lifers.
