I am needing some monitors, and dont have much time to go hunting like I used to. We are FINALLY opening our skating rink on the 14th of this month, and I have some games that need monitors to go on the floor with. I would like new ones, but rebuilt/gone through used ones would be fine. We are needing 4 right now. I ran across a Craigslist AD in the DFW area that had brand new flat screen monitors for $300 each, but they are actually located in California which is a killer on shipping. Does anybody have a bunch of new chassis from china laying around, and could spare a few? I was planning on having everything I might ever need by now with a $30,000 china order I had set up, but the economy has kicked my boss in the rear, so he is scared to buy that much, then us end up going out of business. I also need 1" Token mechs too. Anyways, lay some info on me.

Talk with Rick Neiman at Neiman Displays.

He's got (or did have) new 27" flat screen CRTs.

I talked to this guy in Cali again, and I ended up getting 27" semi flat screen (almost flat) dual res monitors for $275 each since I bought 4, and the shipping was only $140 for all 4. In my opinion a really good deal. His place is called Budget-tubes. http://www.budget-tubes.com/

This guy also has tri-sync 19" LCD monitors with the mounting kits for $279. http://dallas.craigslist.org/dal/clt/2036976644.html (at least $120 cheaper than HAPP) As soon as I get back to working on my classics (what I really like to do) I am converting all of them. Working on the new junk at least pays the bills.

I hope your experience with him is better than mine was. I bought a 25" dual res from him a few years ago and it lost a color after a couple months. Then I sent my chassis back to him and he sent a replacement, which had vertical collapse. Never got it working again. Big waste of $400 (including shipping)... I'm surprised I didn't get out of the hobby after that... huge disappointment...

I have another monitor of the same model that I got elsewhere (MAK vision 1425) and it still works, but it has the crappiest picture of any of my monitors. It has blooming issues, bad convergence, and colors that don't stay consistent. Same qualities as the brand new one that died in a few months.

I just have to milk these monitors long enough to help with the transition to LCD. We can't afford to swap over 100 games to LCD all at once. LOL

For those who don't know, Wells Gardner has OFFICIALLY phased out all tube monitors and parts! I was informed yesterday by them when I called about a monitor I was trying to repair. Tube WGs are the way of the dinosaur. Keep em running as long as you can.
