when you watch UTube vidz of arcade games, which do you prefer?

There are some vidz out there where the person says nothing. They show you the physical game, you see some attract mode, and then they show the gameplay. Pure, clean, and simple.

Then................. there are others, who................ don't. shut. up. I don't want to call out one person who comes to mind, but man when I see that the video is one of theirs, I simply switch it off. It's like they're trying to sell me a set of encyclopedia's during their video!!!

And yea, I know I know, I can kill the sound to lose the person's voice, but then you basically lose the game sounds too! Oy. I'm just wondering if others react the way that I do when I first hear that constant yap kick off :D

I like the talking/their perspective.

My wife always stops and listens if blkdog is doing another video and I have it pulled up. true story.

I prefer a happy medium... the silent ones are ok... maybe with a little music underneath? The ones with a lot of talking can be alright if I learn something new about the game(s)...

I guess short & sweet if there's talking..., and at least have the arcade noises/music if it's a silent one. And I think with talking ones, I kinda like to hear the person's story(s) ie "I got this Pole Position for $25 from KLOV member (blank) and got it up and running last year." rather than "This is Pole Position, it's a driving game, it has a steering wheel, etc etc etc"

Just my preference, I s'pose.

Two words:

"HEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEY GUYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYS!!!"

I like his videos because he actually has some sense of presentation. He gets the medium.

What I can't stand are the countless gaming videos with the monotone: "Hello...and...welcome...to...this...game...video...I'm...an...insufferable...nerd...who...wants...to...hear...himself...sound....smart..." stuff. There's no reason for those videos to have commentary. Just shut up and show the game before I give you a wedgie/swirly combo. :D

That's why I just like the ones where all you hear is the dude's wheezing while he's powering up the game. You can tell he's like 350 lbs but he is being silent so all you get from his experience is the game. Nothing more. Nothing less. :D :D :D

+1 on each point :)

The only time I watch youtube videos of game is to see actual gameplay (how do I get past this level, what's the next section look like), so I prefer the clean gameplay presentation, with maybe a little talking about strategy.

that said, i don't watch many video game youtube videos...
