When you have guests, what game gets the most/least plays?

I was actually quite surprised that even compared to my pinball, my Pole Position got the most plays of the night.

For people who don't play video games often, the driving ones are usually the most popular. Even if they haven't ever played the game before, they already know the concept - and they're familiar with the controls (steering wheel, shifter, pedals).

Champ Sprint got the most use at my last party, followed by Donkey Kong and Galaga. Least love went to Missile Command - it intimidated people.

Most played - Spy Hunter sit-down

Least played - Mat Mania

KIDS: the stupid krappy ratty greyhound skill crane that i bought off of ebay for $25. I swear 80% of my tokens and up there lol

The 360 and the Wii. Everyone likes the arcade games, but most people seem to get bored with them pretty quickly. Before I sold Super Sprint, it was by far the most popular game in the garage. I can rarely talk someone into playing DK and Tempest, which really surprised me. Ridge Racer was a favorite before it was sold. I am finding that my guests and I rarely like the same games. I have sold most of them, and will only keep the ones I want to play now. They can play the Wii.

Of my games that I had at the cafe:
Ms Pac got the most love of my vids, Stratovox, Asteroids Deluxe and SF III were a tie for last place

Pins Pinbot, Black Knight 2000, and Dr. Who all did well, leaving Black Knight(which was cheaper to play) far behind

Interestingly enough, I sold centipede because no one played it, and Tekken 5, which I thought would do really well, only get's middle of the road play time.

By far star wars. Tied for second is twilight zone pin and spyhunter. Asteroids deluxe not quite as much as front line. Krull gets played by accident. The other games are in different locations.

Wizard of Wor gets absolutely no love... ever. Asteroids gets a little love from the oldschoolers as done Battlezone. Amazingly Tempest gets very little love.

On the other end the horizontal MAME still gets most love... (World Class Bowling, Shuffleshot, etc)... followed by Paperboy... the Pins... and Punch Out is garnering some attention these days. Oh, Race Drivin' has it's fans as well.

Somewhere in the middle is the DK multi and Pac machines... and my vertical MAME gets used non-stop when one of my friends comes by...but him (and me) only. He's a vertical shooter fan.

Well, as of now I only have 2 games in my gameroom, Frogger and Swimmer.

Frogger definitely gets more plays when I have my friends over; I assume that is because it is a game that practically everyone knows about.

Those who do play Swimmer tend to like it a lot though... trying to get past the first 4 stages.

I predict that as soon as my Time Soldiers cab is ready to bring in, it will be the #1 most played. Mostly because of its 2 player option and continues. And its a pretty sweet (and intense!) game.

Those cowards just can't handle Sinistar.

I am just shocked that Sinistar doesn't get much love in this thread. AARRGGGG!!!! lol Of course, it's a personal favorite of mine for the sheer challenge and personal memories growing up.

I agree with this, and I'm guilty of it, too.

At ENDOFLINE's party, I don't think many others got to play his 60-1 because I played Qix all evening long.

I could easily spend a full day playing Qix.

The pins are played a lot, Ms Pac Man Hang on. The vid that is played the most is my bowling game. I don't know why but everyone likes that game. The fight games and are 51 Site4, Top Speed are not played that much. Oh and Twin Cobra just sits. ( I love Twin Cobra)

The guests my age have never heard of Sinistar except for one friend of mine and really don't seem to care for it. The funny thing is watching the neices and nephews play Sinistar for the first time and watching the sheer look of horror on their face when Sinistar talks and comes after their ship.

i usually play dk or satan's hollow the most, followed by mario bros, then wizard of wor, then pac. my wife only plays pac, so she always will play that or ms pac.
