When you have guests, what game gets the most/least plays?

We entertain at least once a month, and it really depends on who is there. Like I have a person that will play centipede ALL NIGHT, another couple that are hooked on Robotron, and even a Tempest fan out there that will log a few hours.

I will have to say that of the randoms, people like Pole Position, Pac-Man, Paperboy, Galaga on the arcadeshop, and Rastan on the MAME.
Non gamer types like the Great Guns.

Most of the time, TRON gets no love, neither does DK.

Hands down, most popular are Megatouch and the Mr and Mrs Pacman pin. Those games get crowds and lines to play them.

No real party yet since getting Major Havoc and ST:TNG. I know the pin will get worn out, but MH will probably only get played by a few.

I am exited to have a party with ONLY gamers on the 7th of this month, that will be fun.

I only had 3 real friends that were also into arcades or there at the scene back then.

Number One was a gambling addict (Back then he was at the arcades because of the gambling machines) and Hash smoker, he died recently of lung cancer.

The second friend was also always there in the day but is dope fiend and still in the area nowadays , he nver grew up but you just can't reach him cause he's to spaced out.

Number 3, Yep we still play the games, he's in one of the pics playing OutRun.

So OutRun gets most love.

When you have guests, what game gets the most/least plays?

So when you have friends over or throw a party, what game gets the most/least plays?

Depends a lot on who is attending.

When I have parties for my kids friends (the "10 and under" set)
Blaster - gets constant play. I think kids just like shooting things
Turkey Shoot gets a lot of play - But after they can get to the first turkey air raid screen pretty consistently (but can't get by it), they tend to give it up
Trap Shoot Classic (wall game) - gets constant play
pinball games - get constant play
Pac Man -gets a lot of play
Q*bert - gets a decent amount of play
Marble Madness - gets a lot of play
Millipede, Food Fight & Quantum - gets some play
Wacko - suprisingly gets a fair amount of play
Major Havoc, Stargate, Asteroids, I Robot, Tempest, Black Widow, Missile Command - get almost no play

When I have collector type people over:
Akka Argh, Agent X, Major Havoc, I, Robot, Quantum, Turkey Shoot - get played a lot
Marble Madness & Trapshoot get played a lot
Pinballs get played a bit, but not that much, Revenge From Mars probably the most

When I have adults but non-collector people over:
Trapshoot and pinball get almost constant play
Q*bert close to almost constant play
Pacman, Millipede and Quantum close to Q*bert, but not quite as much play
everybody seems to want to try every game at least one - I find this more in this group of people than any other. They seem to have an open mind, or just don't know about any of them, so they want to try them all.

Just my experiences...

Game played the most - California Speed- Kids were playing this almost non-stop trying to get through all the tracks.

Second most played- World Class Bowling- Good party game for both kids and adults. Easy to play.

Third- Lethal Enforcers- Everyone like playing shooting games. Lethal Enforcers gets a bit old pretty fast though.

Games hardly played if played at all. Street Fighter 2, Neo-Geo w 100-1, Showcase with SNK vs Capcom.

Most played in order:
1. Capcom bowling
2. Shuffleshot
3. Ms Pac Man
4. Road Blasters

Least played:
Golden Tee Golf

Everything else gets occasional playing.

My touch screens tend to a get a lot of play, more than the arcades or pinball machine.

Mortal Kombat II .......... every time!

Sometimes the other games AND pins will be sitting completely idle while people line up to Fatality one another ...

My sit-down Star Wars Trilogy gets the most plays at my house by a long shot. It's a crowd pleaser. Then the pins. Berzerk tends to see the least action.

Well... don't really have any friends over... when my mom is over she plays Pac/MsPac a lot, and really enjoyed Route 16 before it pooped out.

When the neighbor down the street comes over, she plays Pac and Galaga a lot... but she's been bugging me to get a Sinistar, so I think that would take the lead if I had one.

None of the other games EVER get played by anyone but me. I am planning an arcade party when I get all my games up and running and move. A few of my friends have expressed interest in that, but considering the game they talk about the most, I'd put Galaga up near the top of the list when that does eventually happen.

Ms Pac-man speed hack ALWAYS #1 and busy the entire night
I could ramble on about all the other games but there's no point. Hardly any play.
Why - most likely because the games are too hard for most people. The other part - the people are used to console games and would rather play Rock Band or Guitar Hero.
I honestly believe a person needs to ask themselves if they want a gameroom to please themselves or to please the masses?

It's no different than seeing how most women will generally get pulled to Frogger, Centipede or Ms Pac-man. Not sure why they just do ;)

Throw a vector in a room and that's almost a certainty to not get any play either unless it's Star Wars and kids for what ever reaosn love that one??

I had a sizable party this weekend...

Most plays went to Daytona USA x4, it always had at least two people on it the whole night...
Second place for most popular would be Zeke's Peak and ICB, with Z.P. getting more love of the two but always a crowd around the machines...
What shocked me (non-gamer party) was how much love Lunar Lander was given, I overheard a few people saying how dope it was and how this or that person had to try it.
NARC, Smash TV and NBA Jam also had people constantly playing but not sure everyone cared just a select few who wouldn't let go of the controls...

Least popular would have been Joust, Gyruss, Paperboy, I only saw these get played once or twice the whole night.

Of course it all depends on the crowd... hardcore gamers would have picked an entirely different set of favorites and least played, this was just this one party with mostly non-gamers.

Most played;

1) Jurassic Park Lost World
2) Galaga
3) Ms Pac
4) Shooting games
5) Donkey Kong

Least played:

1) Spy Hunter
2) Track and Field
3) Asteroids
4) Robotron
5) Stargate
6) Star Trek SOS

most played:

NBA Jam
Warlords cocktail
Mortal Kombat

least:

720

many of these lists seem upside down to me. How can people play capcom bowling and MK when Sinistar and Qbert is open?? I agree with whoever said RUN COWARD!!!!

In my game room, it certainly depends on the crowd. Family and tourists:
+
Ms. Pac bartop
Ridge Racer 2
Rampage
Sarge
NBA Showtime

-
Tempest
APB
I, Robot
Mat Mania

But when friends who grew up in arcades come over, it's:
+
Robotron
Tempest
Mr. Do
Gridiron Fight
Tapper (or maybe Bomb Jack)

-
Ms. Pac
Arkanoid
Blades of Steel
Bubbles
