When in the game room how many games do you turn on?

How many games do you turn on in your game room? Do you only turn on the ones your playing? Or do you turn them all on too get the full arcade feel?

Or do you feel something could happen too a get your not playing?

I have a switch for two and a switch for three right now. Though, like Drew, I turn them all on no matter which game I'm playing. I only turn one game on if I'm working on it.

Playing, playing, oh yeah, i remember that, seems all i do now is testing repairs.... But, that is the fun part of it. Fwiw, when i test a game, it stays on for hours on end, when i'm playing, i just turn on what i want to play. I usually don't turn it off until i leave the gameroom for the night though, so i usually end up with several on.

When I had my basement gameroom, I would turn them all on when I went down. It gives a great lighting effect and the games are ready to go when you want to play. There were times that I may not have played a certain game if it wasn't on, but since it was on, I played it and remembered how much I enjoyed it.

As said above, all or nothing! Lol!

Its all or nothing :) Unless of course I need to work on one or test things, etc.

Exactly. Sure, "all" for me may only be 3 games. But it is my arcade, after all... and last time checked, arcades don't leave games turned off. (unless they are broken, of course).

if you're like everyone else here, then 3 won't stay 3 for long!

I have 4 20AMP circuits that I turn on to power up my games. And, it's all or nothing. I like them all on.

I have games in three different rooms, and I usually turn them all on anyway, except the Atari Football - if it's just me.

I used to turn them on one at a time. But now I have 4 games (incl. pinball) on one switcher each, so I just push two buttons and all games are on. I usually turn 'em all on to get the full experience because they are all in one area, and it feels a lot more like a small arcade now because of it. :)

If I'm playing vids I turn them all on, they're on the same switched circuit. For pins I turn them on as I play them, leave them on until I'm done in the room. If a guest is over I light em all up.

They are all hooked up to one remote, so its all or nothing. Plus no one would have gone into an arcade back in the day if it only had one game turned on.

As a sidebar - has anyone ever had a passerby knock on their door and ask to play.

Since I don't "advertise" to my neighborhood that I have games, the answer is no. Yet many who come into the house and go downstairs are like, "whoah, cool! Can I play?" hehe

I have about 6-7 games on each circuit, so if I'm by myself, I just put the circuit on for the game that I want to play.

If there are people over, all of them go on.

Generally I'll only turn on the one I'm playing. Sometimes however I have had a few others on as well to get the ambiance.

No, arcades don't leave their games turned off. They do employ full/part time repair people, or spend money to buy new when the old craps out, which is often. They also screen burn the hell out of their monitors, which we all know tubes are no longer being made for.

Don't take that nice looking Assault you posted a bit ago and leave it vulnerable to every power fluctuation that comes through your house lines. Turn them off when they aren't being played.

/Free advice: Worth what it cost you. :)

Like several have already mentioned, it's based on whether or not I have any people over, or am taking pictures, then they are all on. Otherwise, I use my cool blue LED switcher to just turn on the game(s) I feel like playing, unless I am really craving the feel of a nostalgic arcade, then all games + Arcade Ambience MP3s! ;)

I'm just now finishing building my gameroom after 14 long months (I plan to post pics on here soon).

I had my electrician wire it so I have a master switch that I can turn everything on at once. I also had him install secondary switches so I can turn each wall and the floor on independant of each other.

I'm still working through getting everything set up but I suspect it will depend on how long I'm going to be in the gameroom. If it's an hour or so, I'll probably turn them all on for that genuine feel. Otherwise, I'll just probably turn on that one wall with the game I want to play.
