When did cap kits become so expensive?

Political or not....shit is still expensive as fuck....it's not the same as it was...went through the damn drive thru at taco bell on a whim they wanted over 11 bucks for 3 damn tacos...a fucking candy bar is like 3 + bucks, 6 7 bucks for a bag of damn doritos...I'm NOT being political....but food is expensive as fuck(as well as other things. Don't make excuses for them, no matter who they are.

Fast food franchisees have figured out that they can charge what they want for shit and people will generally pay it. You have to watch the price of what you are ordering. Sometimes, they will jack up the price of a single item or two.

It's really too expensive to eat out at all any more, in a way it's good though.....it's more like it used to be a long time ago...when eating out was an occasional treat.

Maybe you should eat real food instead of fast food candy and chips? Where I live Taco Bell tacos are $1.99 so $6 for three. Candy bars are $1 unless you need the king size fat-ass size.

The chip folks went full in on price gouging. Go to Costco to get chip deals.

I know a lot of us buy junk food but none of us are getting any younger so do yourself a favor and cut back.

3 dorito locos tacos were over 11 bucks TODAY, I asked the lady if she was serious...she said "it's the times we live in"....We don't eat out a lot these days...I was just giving examples....we used to be able to afford a lot more at the grocery store too....frankly, I'm kinda shocked to even be debating it....EVERYONE is talking about it and being effected by it. I don't remember the last time we were able to get some steaks at the grocery store...shit is just more expensive, it just is.....it's not political....

you should have said "Sorry!.... Fuck you!.... No offense!) and driven off.

I was in a grocery store a few months back and the cashier said she had a customer a day or so prior that commented that the most expensive vehicle to operate is a shopping cart...

Even with the price of gas here in the California Bay Area, I can drive my gas guzzling pickup all week for less than it costs to take a spin through the grocery store for our household of 4.

Sad but true. We are all feeling the crush.

yeah, look at their profits. it's like 60% or higher from past years. they're giving CEOs raises and ballwashing shareholders. the Walton family could spare about $6 million to give their employees more money and still make like $294 million on the year. in fairness to Walmart they did lower prices on their Great Value brand stuff.

I eat exclusively at Dairy Queen now and buy off brand as much as possible. in addition to what deals they're offering also.

Not me, I dont go to toco bell anymore because of their dumb prices.

I just wrote off burger king the other day because a double whopper, just the sandwich, was $9! F that.

Man I feel ya, we don't buy name brand almost anything any more because of the prices and it's still expensive(walmarts produce and meat suck)....I get some Dr. Pepper Zeros and it's like pass the Grey Poupon living the dream lol....it's everywhere though, all encompassing...even at HEB and local shit.

fast food restaurants here are notoriously garbage. it's the one thing I REALLY miss about living in Illinois. at least at DQ I can get a cheeseburger and fries for like $5.25. though I usually get banana splits because then I don't have actually handle the food. I needed meat yesterday though.

Fast food is basically scamming now. Buyer beware! You have to play the game if you don't want to overpay.

Example, I was getting Taco Bell $1.29 cheesy bean and rice burrito and $1 nachos, $1 happy hour soda. Then one day they change the price of nachos to $3! Sodas are $2.59, $2.69, $2.79 so you just go for the large (except happy hour 2-5pm). Cinnabon balls are 2 for $3 (crazy) or 12 for $6, so 95% just buy the dozen. They did the same with nachos supreme, they raised the price to within $0.20 of the larger Bellgrande, then just removed it altogether. Recently they bumped nachos to $3 but had a 3 layer nachos for $1.50, so I got the 3 layer, hold the red sauce.

It's all a game to get the most money from people who don't care, and allow them to also sell/advertise some cheap/value items to those that do care.

Here are some great deals in fast food:

-Taco Bell value menu items and $1 happy hour drinks
-Chipotle 2 soft taco kids meal (includes chips and soda) $6 (amazing)
-Chickfila kids meals (free sub of "toy" for ice cream) $6 (you can add choc sauce and crumbled oreos for $0.40 each)
-Wendy's $5 biggie bags
-Burger King $5 meals

Some are kids meals, but they are more food than most people should be eating for a dinner. We don't go hungry. KFC kids meals got too big for us.

Yep, they raise the prices because people pay it.

They can change prices easily thanks to electronic billboards/payment systems.

Electronic pricing has given them price elasticity. Technology and progress is ours once again!

Yes, when did capitalism go to "gouge the people as much as we can for profit".

My local grocery has a gallon of milk for $3.79/gal. 20 minutes east at a different store location its $2.89/$2.99 (depending on the day  ). If I went to L'ville (45 minutes away) it was $1.99 but recently went up to $2.09.

$3.79, why, because people don't know better, they don't care, and there is no real competition and they just pay it. Gouging. This same grocery puts on a full blitz whenever there is talk of getting a Walmart and it gets voted down by the city.

Gouging.

I tried to go get an abortion but ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS stopped me and now I can't get a god damned cap kit for under $60 Buffets! That reminds me. When I was kid we used to have cap guns. They looked like REAL guns. That's another interesting thing about me. What were we talking about again? Oh yeah, politics and the Bible.
