When 2 Tron's go to war...One is all that you can score
Took a trip to South Philadelphia with StudioPaul to pick up "two nonworking trons, one with slight water damage". What took place from there is stuff of legend...
So turns out the guy is an old op with several buildings stashed around. This one building was leaky and let's just say I hope we don't get sick and die from the mold. Never seen so much in my life!
The "slightly water damaged" Tron disintegrated on contact - see the photos. The other one was in pretty decent shape actually. Too bad I forgot my tie-downs in my mad rush to get there - again see photos.
The warehouse had some nice titles and we plan to go back for more - 2 asteroids, moon patrol, stargate, pole position II, monaco gp, cosmic alien (NICE!) and 3 converted taito cabs (1 zoo keeper with art intact!). Plus more we couldn't see. If we manage to grab these you guys will be first to know & have crack at anything we don't want.
While driving to drop off Tron we stopped to grab some rope and tie the game down. Paul tells me "You know I'd really like a Defender" and like a genie granting a wish a guy walks up to us and said "Hi I have a Defender in my house if you want it for $250". (100% TRUE!!!!!!!!!)
We made plans to pick up Defender later in the day and went to drop off the Tron at my house. Grabbed lunch and headed to get Defender. Pushed my luck on my busted gas gauge and we ran out of gas on the PA Turnpike! Paul couldn't wait for his Defender so he ran to nearest gas station while I called AAA. Like a photo finish Paul returned with gas at the moment AAA arrived with some.
We got to the Defender which is in really really nice shape save for a willis overlay and 1 bad ram. Loaded it up and headed to Paul's recording studio (hence StudioPaul) in Manayunk. Got his Defender in and working. Took a vid board from the water damaged tron and fixed his Tron and the day was complete. Now to work on my new Tron...
Whew.
