I picked up a centipede cabret - it was converted to a crapcom bowling. I am going to make it into a 60 in 1 multi.

game cabnet is in really good shape 9 out of 10
monitor clear/bright

How much should i try to sell this for on craigs list for christmas.

see a couple of photos of the work in progress.

thanks

chris

Mini

Those are great cabs. But it has already been converted so.... You have no moral delima to contend with. Already a Jamma harness in it. Should be an easy convert. In your area I would think 4-500$. You dont see to many minis that have been multied. Being a purist, I would make it a Centipede again. You might be able to sell that blue bezel by its self and make some cash though.

conversion

The original wire harness was never cut. they added a jamma along side the original.

they even used the arII board. and the power brick.

no light fixture for the mini marquee.

i think a centipede would only brink 250-300 bucks.

and a multi would bring a bit more.

If you feel like you must do this, at least go to the trouble to make it look like a Centipede. I would make it a Centipede again. Especially since it still has the harness and power.

It's not what it would bring. It is saving classic arcades from the death of Multi's/conversions. Turn that back to a Centipede. Or face the KLOV Wrath.

Plenty of Poker Mini's and painted over trashed cabinets for Multi's.

Saying a quick prayer for the Centipede.

All you have to do is apply Craigslist math. Here's a guide:

*All "classic" games are worth at least $1200
*You'll have 60 of them in one cabinet. $1200 x 60 = $72,000
*Your work for taking a nice cabinet and converting it is worth at least $2,000. Total = $74,000.

Make sure you mention that similar machines are going for twice the price, and that you don't want any lowball offers because you know what it's worth.

I prefer restoring games myself. Like others have said here, you could probably buy an original centipede board and deconvert that machine for about what you would pay for a 60-in-1 board.

Then again, for me, games are a hobby. I'm not concerned about what the games I restore will 'bring', and I am happier for it.

Well since it already has the Centipede harness, power board and power brick in the the bottom of the cabinet I would make it a Centipede. If you want a multi game in the same size cabinet then go to Home Depot or Lowes and get a sheet of wood. Then trace the cabinet out cut it out and make a new cabinet for like $50. Since the cabinet is so small your only probably going to need one sheet and if you don't like it sell the multi and make $500.

Bottom line it's yours. Do what ever you want obviously.

We are dedicated to saving machines. Multi units are great for many reasons including saving space. That is a NICE cabinet and with plenty of junk jamma cabinets out there I feel it's a huge injustice to do that to it. You'll end up hacking up the control panel and either paint it black and/or slap crappy multi game side art on it. If you feel you must convert it to a multi, then at the very least DON'T paint it.

Easy enough to deconvert it. Why sell a craptastic game if you don't have to?

The fact that it still has the paperwork, wiring etc. inside says to me it should be restored. Those original details make it more valuable.

Maybe there's a KLOVer in the area that'd be willing to trade cabinets with you for the project.

Restore it to a Centipede. If you don't want to do that, trade it to someone that will, for a crappy jamma cab.

Idea

Great Idea. I have a Midway Mini that has been converted already that i will trade. I also Have a converted Pac man upright that i will trade for it or several others To choose from. Let me know. Aaron

There is really only one question you have to ask yourself if you are not planning on restoring it. Do you already have a buyer? If not, making multi's isn't really the profit-monster that Chronic CL sellers would have you believe. I have made exactly one multi in my arcade restoration career, and I had a buyer lined up before I even started on it.
