Are you going to leave the games to your kids?

Sell everything at retirement age and go play shuffleboard for a hobby instead?

Keep collecting until the good Lord says its time to go?

Get rid of everything tomorrow and move to Mexico?

I'm going to keep all of my games until I die. I told my wife she can do whatever she wants with them after I croak but just save Gorf for the kids. But I know she would keep them all for the kids; and whatever they do with them I wouldn't care I guess...

I would sell them all today if it funded a trip to Hawaii. They're just games people - there are plenty more where the current ones came from.

I plan on keeping them up and running and just rotating games in and out as I feel like it. I just had my first baby with my wife four months ago, and I can't wait until he's old enough to enjoy them. Also, I'd really like our house to be the hangout house when he's old enough to be having friends around, so the arcades and pinball machines should definitely help. My dad still has a pinball machine, and we're getting him a second one for his birthday later this month, so I figure if his love for playing is still around, I can do the same.

lol me and splatz were talking at the auction sunday

lol im to buried in a pac and my wife will be buried in a ms pac right besides me lol
after that the rest of my stuff can go where ever the hell ot ends up

Then what are you waiting for? I'm to the point where I'm trying to collect nicer games that will stay with me for awhile due to limited space and the fact that based on how upside down I am in my mortgage I'm going to be in the current location for quite awhile. One of the nice things about CAX and other gatherings: I get my fix of playing games I like, but would not hold my attention long enough to be permanent fixtures in my collecton.

I haven't spent a lot of time thinking about it. I plan on continuing to collect and add the best of the games to my collection.

Right now I am starting to think about personal machines vs. road show machines. My game room is upstairs and it is such a F*ing pain to get them up the stairs that they will be there permanently once they go up those stairs. But I also like to drag them over to neighbors for parties and to the game shows, so I am thinking about keeping some on the ground floor or out in the garage as "road show" games and the "best of the best" upstairs as permanent game room pieces.

I plan on keeping them for as long as they bring me happiness. As soon as they are no longer a fun hobby that I enjoy, they will go. I don't see that happening anytime soon though!

100% agreed! At this point I really enjoy them and can't wait to find and fix more but things change over time you never know. I use to collect garbage pail kid stickers now I could give a crap less but I was only 10 I guess.

Then what are you waiting for?

I sold three 2 weeks ago. The net profits partially funded a large deposit into my child's saving's account, and another chunk went into a Hawaiian vacation fund. I plan on selling 2 more next month, and long term plan on the vacation for next summer or fall. :D

I still plan on having games, just different ones.

I went from a decent game room with 40 or so games down to 5 keepers here in my office.
I have about 10 more games in storage that I'll be blowing out soon (sold or scrapped). I need to focus all my energy on my parts business so 95% of the games are going. The only game I'll keep until I die is Reactor. It's the first game I ever bought. I was 13 at the time.

I plan on building a crypt that resembles the time tunnel. All my games will be there and I will be stuffed and positioned in front of my Robotron machine. Of course all the games will be on and nobody will be allowed to play them. I'll of course have a maintenance guy come in periodically over the years to cap monitors and such.

I think about this quite a bit, but don't have a solid answer...

My collecting has slowed to a crawl now that the house has been overfilled a few times, I can't bring myself to weeding any more out yet I know there are a few must haves out there.

Someday in the next few years I will be buying a house with a huge game area where I can set everything up in one room outside of my living area, and expand double or triple my current collection, with ALOT more pins thrown in the mix. At that point I will go entirely nuts getting machines again, but until then its gonna be more about scrapping out machines, repairing games, building multicades, and maybe a resto here and there as I find the parts...

I've thought about doing a museum where people can come and play the games publicly. They were meant for the general masses to enjoy, yet they only get enjoyed MAYBE once a month by a handful of people when they're at my house.

i will keep my 20-25 keepers as long as i can but i will try and keep a good 5-10 if something shoulod happen where id have to liquidate further than i already have. i would rather pass them on the other collectors than save the rest forever

I'll keep my Robotron long term but the others could probably get sold off. Probably a really bad time to sell them, though. Even when the economy recovers I don't think prices are going up much, if at all.

My daughter is not into video games at all.

Hey, I noticed you live in Winona county. Wow, I think you are the only person from around there on KLOV. I lived in Winona from 1985-1989 and my mother grew up there. My grandparents lived there from 1933 until 1970. My great uncle was the original lockmaster on the Whitman Dam in Winona. I haven't been back there in more than 10 years but one of these days I am taking my kid there to show her around.

Jim(YodaInMn) is only and hour away, RussMyers is an hour away, Crank(Keith) is 45 min away, and Duane(can't remember his username right now) is an hour away. So there's a few guys that are close that I keep in contact with. They should all be at my party on saturday; can't wait

i'm never getting rid of my games. as far as plans, we're looking to upgrade to a larger house, and part of that plan is having a dedicated arcade, hopefully a nice finished basement. and at that point i'll have the room to get more games.....
