Joysticks. One of the most prominent type of game controllers, they are most commonly associated with arcade games. Throughout the history of the arcades, there have been 3 major kinds of joysticks.
Number 1, which looks like this:
This type of joystick has a big round ball on the top, which you hold onto to control the game with. It works with some games, but it can be uncomfortable if you're holding it with your whole hand.
Number 2, which looks like this:
This is a stick with a shape like an upside-down drop of water. It's perhaps best with fighting games.
And number 3, which looks like this:
These have funky shapes that, despite their odd appearance, meld with your hand quite well. They're typically best with games that involve some kind of airplane or boat control.
Which of these joystick designs do you prefer? Or do you think it depends on the game?
