What's your favorite music to listen to when you're gaming in your arcade?

I often wondered if it was just me or does everyone have a go to music when they're in their arcade? I find the type of music I listen to helps or hurts my game. Easy listening usually wrecks my game, gangster rap makes me play more aggressive, Metalica or Iron Maiden usually gets me the quck board Clarence. If I do get a good 80's Rock playlist going (Journey, ect.) it produces the highest scores and the best results. Anybody else have any thoughts on this?
Or do I have way too much time on my hands and am clearly overthinking my musical selection during playtime??

I have an old broken record player/radio with some decent speakers in there, the radio is the only part that works. It's usually set to the classic rock station

Depends on the person but I think there is something to it. If you are someone who likes music it can affect your mood, which can affect your reflexes and decision making, etc. I usually feel most relaxed and play best when I have a good mix of early '80s popular music going. I've noticed that whenever I was pursuing a record score, though, that I didn't play music at all, just the game's own sounds in an otherwise quiet room. Weird, as I actually prefer to have background music when I'm playing. Maybe I thought it would be distracting and I'd need total concentration or something.

I have 2 different Pandora accounts.

1. All 80's
2. Dubstep/Techno/EDM/Everything else

I tend to do better when listening to the 2nd station. I think that is because I never really got into 80's music except for the main hits of the decade....

too much time on my hands

I think you answered yourself in your post.

From 1981, smack dab in the middle of the arcade revolution.

P.S. And the only way you should be playing any rap is if it's the Sugar Hill Gang... A hip a hop :D
