What's wrong with my monitor

I just bought this game yesterday. Seemed fine when I tested it at the persons house. Didn't notice anything. Then I got home and two issues, one the corners are discolored. I think degaussing will help with that, haven't tried it yet.

Second the top has lines going through it and kind of flipped. You'll see "press start" is upside down. I played with a bunch of the pots in the back and nothing. Any ideas what this might be? Is it monitor of gameboard?

Attached pics.

Thanks

Degauss and adjust it and it will be fine. There are some good guides around but you need to be very careful as CRTs can be extremely dangerous if you don't know what you are doing.

What make and model is themonitor? Most of them have an automatic degaus on power up. That lines on top could indivate a low B+ voltage. Play around with the vertical width and look for changes.

Hi, so I went to look at the make the monitor and looks like an RCA A63BG25X. I'm a novice when it comes to this, but while I was looking for the model number i looked that the degaus around the monitor and it led to these two wires pictured with a plug. It's not plugged in, but I also don't see where it could plug in. Am I missing something? attached photo to show what I'm talking about

Here are some pics. I didn't see anything that would indicate a model number, so maybe you're able to tell from just looking at it?

Also do you know where I could plug in that deguassing plug?

Thanks

Degauss has absolutely nothing to do with the lines on top problem.
Just sayin.
You have a K7000
I know I have two issues, lines at the top and the dark discolored patches in the corners. I was trying to fix the discolored patches in the corners and was going to purchase a degausser wand, but I just noticed my degausser that is built onto the monitor isn't plugged and wondering where to plug that into.

The degauss wire plugs in here. However, don't plug it back in while the monitor is on. And I probably wouldn't even plug it back in at all right now. Might have been unplugged for a reason. It's just not something you need to worry about right now. You have a bigger issue with those lines on the top of the screen. That chassis probably needs to be re-capped and re-flowed but I'll let the expert @mecha comment on that.

Thanks,

I just saw your post after I found it and plugged it. I looked at my other arcade with same chassis looking to see where it was plugged in, found it and then plugged it in with the game off and presto, the colors are back to normal. Now I just have the lines issue to worry about. Thanks again!!!

Also question for @mecha I was turning the knob on that 50-60 hz pot thinking it was vertical position. Not sure if that does anything or reason why I'm getting those lines at the top.

EDIT: So I went back and played with the 50-60 pot, and got the top to look perfect, the "free play" was no longer upside down, but now the bottom is squished. Tried to adjust 50-60 and vert pos and vert size to try and get it just right and can't win, if I have the top perfect the bottom is squished, if I have the bottom perfect the top kind of folds over, there is no in between it seems.

that's vertical linearity.

K7000 whisperer I may be, but that's @zenomorp 's thing now (being an expert). lol

Not sure what vertical linearity is and how I can fix it. I'm pretty much a newb.
the 50/60 adjustment is adjusting the hertz of the vertical oscillator. if you dial it between extremes the top will be compressed and bottom will be stretched. go the other way and it's vice versa. you need a crosshatch pattern to find the happy medium where the top and bottom boxes have the same height.

most people erroneously think 50/60 is used to remove "curl" from the top, which is either caused by H. Hold being out of adjustment or the sync plug being wired wrong with composite sync connected to both horizontal and vertical sync pins. no Wells-Gardner monitor should have composite sync wired this way.
