The Price? The Control Panel? The Keyboard? (Looks like the original CP was pulled off and a custom one was bolted to the top of the CP guides?) The Cabinet? (YES!) Or how about he wants that price, but you get no ROMs loaded? All with Windows 98, too. And with only 1700 ROM's, it's probably an old version of MAME....

I wonder if I can talk him into pulling all the crap out and just selling the cabinet for $50-100?

custom 2 player controls, immaculate! Mame32 uses Dos commands-hence windows 98
(i will need to remove the Roms before the Sale- I will give you the links on the web to replace them)

Worth a shot to see if he'd just sell the cab,but I'm sure he will only let it go for a unreasonably high price. That CP and keyboard set up is just....wrong.

$2750 for a MAME cab running windows 98?! Why don't he just put 3.1 on there..geez. And you can't have the roms,so basically $2750 for the modified cab with the LCD and a craptastic computer running very outdated software.

One of the worst cabs to even try to convert to anything. And not just because that sideart BELONGS to Tempest and nothing else!

hehehehe, look he's got my famous Lowe's marble shelf paper. yay!

thats funny. i have a mame cab and havent touched the keyboard since i set it up. any mame rig with an obvious keyboard screams ignorance.

The worst part about it is that there are klovers that mame games like that and have crap like that in their collections. I guess it's not a crime until you try and sell it for a lot of money.

I don't know, I doubt any KLOVer would go as far as to
1. Shelf paper a Tempest
2. Randomly select a bunch of colored buttons
3. Create an awkward layout like that.
4. Run MAME with a keyboard shelf exposed like that.
5. Mount joysticks above the cp like that.

There's bad, then there's notoriously bad.

Maybe I'm wrong and the guys who do, don't dare speak up, but I really doubt that they'd stoop that low.

I'm guilty of jammatizing a pre-converted Pac-man. :(

Terminate all non-dedicated games I shall. :viking:

I need to find a Pac-man PCB then I'm going to restore it.

No, the crime here is the cab. If he had some generic Dynamo and wanted $3000 for it, I wouldn't have mentioned it. Ho Hum - see them every day. Taking a Tempest (and a nice one at that) and then bastardizing it with a cheap computer and wanting top dollar - pfft.....

Yeah,it's pretty insulting (especially to klovers) to butcher a classic cab,put in a weak dick effort to mame it,and on top of that slap an outrageous price tag on it.Too many jackholes like this trying to win the lotto by selling this dook.

You asked what the worst part was, the worst part is that he left the marquee on it.

It's the EXACT same feeling I get when I see a 2007 or so Chevrolet Impala. Same logo as the originals, but everything else is just inferior.

That marble shelf paper reminds me of the walls in the men's room of my uncle's golf course

Hahahaha. I've used it probably 3 or 4 times now on machines. My first was my homebrew SNES cab (which sucked). Second was on a DarkStalkers (looked cool). Third was an Altered Beast (which was sold for $400) Fourth was on a Magic Sword (used the white marble that time, not too bad looking). Pics for proof?
