The kids play a couple of games that they love at our local pizza place.
Speed Demon (rotating playfield with slots and a devil like roulette almost)
and Star shooter (which is a short pinball field and plunger and some rubber posts that funnel the pinball through switches of various numbers)

I did a quick browsing and didn't find much on the open market.
Are they exclusive to coin op vendors and not on the public market or something?

ha, right. i meant about the market for buying.....

that's interesting. I could see where they are a gold mine for tokens in the ticket giving environment.
i've never noticed one of these types of games for sale anywhere. but i've seen other types of ticket vending games at auction. i think i'm going to start watching.

Stern should take a hint from Bay Tek and make some stripped down 30 second pinball games along the lines of this borderline slot machine for kids theme.

1 coin = 1 ball, give a fast goal like 5 drop targets. ticket dispensed for each target you drop. bonus tickets for getting all 5. put a time limit on play.
it would work plus be fun as heck.

the variations on 1 goal tables would be endless.
--try to hit a loop 5 times in a row.
--try to hit a sink hole 5 times.
--etc etc etc.

They make some nice games. Their hardware is pretty easy to work
on and is pretty solid. Most of their games I've serviced have always
done well and have held their value.

I'm pretty sure you need to go through a distributor to purchase
from them.

prices on vending machines of that calibre make pinball look like a cheap sport.

i think i'm going to build a rendition of star shooter for the kids. it's just a curve. a bunch of bumper posts and a plunger. could throw in some switch wiring and lights if wanting to get fancy.
i love how such simple concepts can be so fun when they are presented as challenges.
totally gets into the human psyche, like that minute to win it game i suppose...or gambling....
