I have one that doesn't spin so freely. It doesn't have that signature "whir" sound. Is WD40 a good idea on that bushing?

Pull it out, take it apart.. Clean everything.. Lube the shaft and plastic bushings with lithium grease. Replace bushings if damaged.. But most usually clean up.

Follow that and you'll have a brand new spinner. Just did one last week for my new mini.. Amazing

Arcadeshop sells the replacement bushings

Thanks... should a spinner make a sound? I'm used to that "whir" sound but wonder if that's just a worn bushing.

I've owned a few, never replaced the bushing just pulled it and cleaned it up.. Then used lithium grease just like Atari used to :) No sound, just butter :)

It's night and day once you've cleaned it right.. 10-15mins on the couch while watching something stupid, done.

You mean the whir sound wasn't factory? Lol

I'm not sure I could play one without that whir, I don't think I've ever found one even BITD that didn't make that sound.

If its not moving well definitely tear it part and clean it up.

yeah when I was a kid, I destinctively recall the whir...
